I drink protein shakes, but not for muscle building. I drink Beverly International, both chocolate and cookies and cream. I really like them. I get mine from amazon.com or you can get them directly from the company.0

Diet protein shakes are the way to go. Low carb, high protein and low calorie. They aren't for those who are looking to be body builders but those who wanna up their protein to assist weight loss. I currently use Jst Jodie Skinny Whey and I think its fantastic. It keeps me full and doesn't use too many kcals (151) plus they have really nice flavours. Maxitone Sculptress are pretty good too.
Hope this helps!0 -
Just get a low carb protein shake. (Read the labels). Don't worry if you're not trying to build muscle. Protein won't make you build muscle if you don't do the strength training to go along with it. It's just the building blocks you need to make muscle but it won't give you muscles. You know, you can set cans of paint in your garage but the room won't change colors if you don't actually get a painter to use it.0

I use Unjury, it comes in unflavored, chocolate splendor and chicken soup. it contains 20grms protien and carb. content is low as well. It's the best of ever had.0

Protein shakes don't build muscle, heavy weight training and a calorie surplus is what makes you build muscle. Since you have issues getting calories, get a high calorie one like muscle milk. Two scoop is 300 calories and has 18g of carbs.0

You may not want to build muscle, but you dont want to lose it either. Although most people say that they want to lose weight, what they actually mean is I want to look better. If you have access to someone that can help you figure your percent body fat that may be helpful in setting your goals. If you lose fat put do put on muscle you will look better, but the scale may tell you that you have not lost, or may have actually gained weight. Use the mirror and how your clothes fit as a guide along with the scale. And good luck0

I really like the GNC brand of shakes. "Pro Performance AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60" is the official name. The directions say three scoops but I only take one. One scoop is worth 93 calories and 2.3 grams of carbs. It tastes great and doesn't make you gassy (like some brands will). A giant container is like $60 but will last for months since I only do 1/3 of a serving.0

You're low carbing and your deficit goal is set over 800kcal. There's not a cat in hells chance of you gaining any muscle.
Trying to get extra calories from a low carb protein shake seems like a stupid idea to me.
Edit to add something helpful. Try having some nuts/seeds/avocado as snacks.0 -
A great protein shake that has just about no carbs or fat are the Pea Protein ones....their flavour can sometimes not be great but if you add flavourings to them (eg Natvia does a great range of flavours that are intended for milk but i put them in my pea protein and they taste great and have virtually no calories) they taste great!
Being pea protein as opposed to whey, they also has a very high digestibility rating, so shouldnt upset your stomach as some protein shakes can do.
Im vegan so found very few choices in the way of protein shakes, mainly soy (which musashi does an amazingly nice choc one of!) rice (which is not that nice), or thsi pea protein!
The Pea protein is the 'healthiest' as it were...in terms of low amount of calories, fat and carbs
Hope that helped!0 -

Fat is not an issue. In fact, higher fat diets are much more effective at weight loss than low fat diets. Fat increase satiety, as well as many other benefits (improved hair, skin, cognitive ability, less irritable, etc..).0 -
