I am currently under my calorie goal. But I borderline reached my carb goal I am 3 points away from Going over my daily carbs... If I eat I will go over yet again. Its my 3rd day here and I am taking baby steps. Idk if I am really hungry or if I just want to eat something.. The questions I have for you guys are
1- how do you stay under your calorie goal when you may still be hungry? or not hungry just craving food?
2- what foods do you eat that dont have to much carbs, calories, and protein?.....
3- Why do I feel like eating again if im so close to my goal and yet not to hungry..
I hate eggs I estimate alot of foods I may eat and I would be under my calorie goal if I ate a hard boiled egg but ewww. yuck.. lol I wont eat that..

no one can help you if your diary is closed.0

so just eat a little more. As long as you stay under or at your maintenance calories you won't gain anything. It's just one day.0

but.. your calorie goal is probably to low, you are not eating the right kind of carbs, you need more protein, and everything in your diary is probably processed and leaving you hungry.
But, like I said, just an assumption since your diary is closed.0 -
It would be easier to help if you'd open your diary.0

If you don't know if you're really hungry, drink some water and go to bed!
Also, there's nothing wrong with feeling hungry (although that's not a popular opinion on here!) Personally, I'd much rather be too hungry than too full! Never wanting to feel hunger is what made me fat!0 -
Now that you have opened your diary, I can say it looks like you have over 200 more calories to eat today AND your goal of 1200 is quite likely lower than it needs to be. Have you figured out what your BMR is? You should set that as your goal for calories.0

your daily goals are a guideline. if you're over some days and under some days, it's ok. look at your weekly and monthly averages. those mean more overall.
1500 cals = MON
1350 cals = TUE
1200 cals = WED
1575 cals = THU
1425 cals = FRI
is the same as 1410 for each of those 5 days, as far as your body is concerned.0 -
You have 233 calories left....eat them! jmo0

Eat to your calorie goal, MFP has already given you a calorie deficit!!! Eat!!!0

You should eat. You are really hungry, because you only ate 900+ calories today. Unsalted almonds are usually what I got to if I'm done eating for the day but have hunger pains. I have lost 31 pounds by never going hungry.0

1200 assumes you will not exercise. If you exercise MFP gives you extra calories to eat.0 -
The amount of carbs is still low compared to an average person's consumption, which I think is typically around 300. So even if you're a little bit over, it's not the end of the world.0

I think it helps to say out loud "I know I want to eat but really I am just fighting old habits" if you are truely not hungry. If you are, eat some veggies. I love to munch on raw button mushrooms and cherry tomatoes.0

You say you estimate a lot of foods...? Thats not going to work. You need to be accurate and measure everything. I wouldn't eat things everyday that you don't have an accurate count for (such as generic chinese take out like you had on there) because you could be WAY off with your estimate.0

Here's some advice -- without opening your diary...
If you are hungry...eat. If you are not hungry...don't eat.
Don't worry so much about the macros, or going over on carbs or protein. In fact, don't worry about the numbers right now. Let yourself off the hook where those are concerned right now, and just stick to logging and making the changes you feel are right for you.
Do some research on low calorie snacks...Special K makes a lot of lower calorie snacks and cereals--the chocolate one is very very good. Arctic Zero makes an ice cream that is only 150 calories per pint. Quaker makes some delicious snack items for 90 calories. Rolos are only 22 calories. Do a search on negative calorie foods or high protein foods. And to find out if you are hungry or just want to eat, try dill pickles or gum or ice. If it is just chewing, the craving for food will go away...Pickles really curb the appetite for about 30 minutes.
The reason I'm saying this is because in the early days of learning how to eat better (notice I said better not right), is that we like the foods that we like. You already know what foods you should leave off the table for a while, and you have already realized there are numerous choices to replace them.
Try to eat enough food to get within 100 calories of your setting. And on going over, set a mark for yourself or "pay those calories back through exercise".
It seems to me that when we finally get ready to lose the weight, we just want to do everything right. You are here, you are making a start, a GREAT start!!!!
Good luck! You are going to be GREAT at this!0 -
the goals that mfp set up are overall guidelines, sometimes you will go over on one category and be under on another. if you are hungry then have a little something, some fresh fruit, yogurt, popcorn, egg whites, oatmeal. it's not big deal if you go a little over, better than than be hungry the rest of the day and end up eating more later on0

Let's put it this way. If you eat your target calories every day, you will still always be over on some macro. If you are constantly going in the red on carbs, then you know that you should probably cut back on those. However, you should not be upset just because you see a red number. Also, remember that your target is a target, not a maximum. If you are within 100 calories on either side, you'll be fine.0

drink some water. that should fill you up0
