I just started a program at California State University.. for a BA in Graphic Design.

I already have AA in Art New Media and Certificates in Graphic and Web Design.

Starting on my BA now.. and its SOOO frustrating and confusing and just crazy...

I know this is a fitness website... so its kind of unusual... but all this stress does kind of effect my fitness..

Anyways.. Im just looking for any kind of support or suggestion, anything...

I do not have a degree in graphic design but I have taught myself many of things in graphic design with tutorials online and have been doing it for 10 years now. I'm no expert but I can make things work when I need it. I'm more into web design and coding though.

    I'm a graphic designer.
  • I've been a graphic/web designer for 12 years. I skipped uni and went straight into a job. I've worked at agencies, print houses, web design companies. Now I own and run www.vivadigital.net

I wouldn't swap it for anything.

Not a graphic designer, but went to the local junior college and got my Associates. I then transferred to a four year and really struggled. The University was a totally different culture than the junior college. I dropped out because I just was not ready for it. I did return to a different University 15 years later and finally got my Bachelor's, but only went part-time as I was working full-time and had a family. I feel for you, but you can do it. Just take one day at a time. Organization and planning is the key to success in the final years of college.

I have my bachelor's in fine art, and an associates in Visual Design, also one in e-business. I got my Master's in Elementary ed. I did work as a Graphic designer for a few years, but was laid off due to 9-11 and haven't found a design job since. I live in the Midwest in a small town, with very slim pickings for jobs. I loved doing graphic design, but it has changed a lot now. I teach Photoshop at a local college when they have the course.

It is different in a bigger college with all that can happen, but if you are there to learn, you will need to focus on the classes, and yourself. Don't overdo the nights out etc. Fun occasionally is good, but it can seriously derail academic achievement. I got my master's degree online while I had 2 kids to care for and no husband around for most of it. I worked through that, also. You can do it if you stay focused.

I am a designer and my husband and I run a print shop in South Bend, Indiana (Notre Dame country). Love it, been doing it for years. Wish I could hole up in my cubby and design all day ... unfortunately we're a small shop so I have to get involved in all the grunt work. But we do screen printing too. So creating and printing tshirts/wearables is my secondary passion.
