    I workout about 3-4 times a week.
  • Twice a day - strength training in the morn, cardio at night!

But i dont think its necessary...i just enjoy it so i do it

Rest days have actually scientifically been shown to make the body perform more effectively, so you should try to have a rest day

I used to work out 2-3hours each day, until I sustained a major injury (broke both ankles). Now, I do a 1-hour spin class (stationary cycling) once a day, but I work HARD. I find it doesn't matter how much time/how often, it depends on the intensity. I make way more progress doing 1 hour of hard cardio daily with 2-3 resistance sessions thrown in a week, with one day rest if needed. I do have a good level of fitness though, so for a newbie I'd suggest 3+ cardio sessions a week, then add in the resistance.

Six days a week, 3 days running, 3 days of strength, generally no more than 60 minutes a day.

Love my rest day, sometimes I take two days off if the body tells me to, and occasionally I take the better part of a week off - then I feel rested and strong when I come back to my workouts.

I run 7 days a week but on Sundays, it's a nice relaxing run. I do the elliptical 5 days a week for 30-60 mins and now that my weights are here, I will be adding strength training in 3x a week. :). I run that much because I honestly love it and it's my time to let everything go.
  • 3-4 times a week at the gym doing HIIT's mixed with weight lifting.. about 60-90 mins a session. Pretty intense, but I kind of need it.

I have recently been able to kick things back into gear after an ankle injury, My workouts consist of 800-1000 calories 4-5 times a week. I usually let my body tell me what is enough. It is the greatest meter in the world.

I work out everyday. What I do, depends on the day. I have my work routine and then my weekend routine.
  • 5 days a week. Sun-thurs. 50-60 min a night. Rest friday and sat.
  • Usually 6 days a week, should really have one rest day from training, but i end up going for a walk. All my weight loss is down to cycling. Good Luck.

Yep, me too. And on Friday - my rest day - I'll sometimes take a walk at lunch, but nothing strenuous.

I walk on a Treadmill three times a week, and it's a struggle to get that in. I get up at 6:00am on the mornings I walk so I can be in work by 9:00. I admire those who work out every day, but this is all I can handle. It never seems to get easier either.

Right now I am bulking so 3x per week intensive full body compound weight training with no cardio. When cutting, I'll add a day or 2 of low intensity cardio to that. I'm also 61 years old. You don't recover as well as you do at 30 anymore. Especially when the workout was intense.

I had a great compliment from a regular at the gym yesterday. I did squats, leg press, flys, bench and deadlift. He is early 40s. He said, "heavy duty program today!" I said, "Yes, I'll be tired later. At 61, recovery time is a little longer." He said, "You're 61!! I'm 20 years younger than that and your program today would kick my butt!" He is in excellent shape also. All in all, instensity is a little more important than frequency to me.
