I want to tone my stomach, but don't know where to begin. I have a couple inches I need to get rid of first, and Im not sure how I can target that area. I have been burning about 500-600 calories on the elliptical at my gym almost every evening, and I always eat less than the recommended amount of carbs on my food journal. I have lost a lot of weight in my ab/stomach area, but now its at a standstill. Should I be doing something different? Any advice would be appreciated.

It looks like you pointed out your problem, you are not eating enough. You should eat within 100-200 cals over or under your diary calories plus you calories earned through exercise to fuel you body. MFP already has you at a deficit caloric intake based on your goals, so you should eat all of your calories. It sounds strange but sometimes you have to eat more to loose more. Also keep in mind that you cannot spot reduce fat loss. Fat loss happens where it happens and if you loose enough you will loose it in the area you want to target. Keep up the hard work it will pay off.0 -

Here is the core run my trainer gave me to do on days I don't meet with her.
1. 1 minutes situps/crunches
2. 20 alt toe to hand (15 each side)
3. 30 sec flutter kick
4. 20 crab crunches
5. 30 heel touches
6. 30 sec scissor kick
7. 30 toe touches
8. 20 superman
9. 30 alt leg & arm extensions
10. 30 sec plank (from elbows)0 -
My stomach has always been my concern area. Since using MFP and following the calories I have noticed a small but sure difference on the scale and general weight/fat loss from all over. My favorite workout is power yoga. We actually have hot yoga where you're in a heated room which is fantastic but I'm not sure if it's available in every city. Anyway, yoga has helped me in that I don't necessarily think of my abs anymore, but I think about my core. A million sit ups I'm sure would help but I hate them and they're boring. Yoga incorporates push ups and plank type exercises and I have definitely noticed more definition in my core area. Even focusing on keeping your core muscles tight when you go for a power walk will help too.0

I do Ab Ripper X and also the ab circuits from Jillian Michaels' "No More Trouble Zones" and I've found that they both get noticeable results. I mix up my core workouts a lot because I get bored, and I get better results when I mix it up, but at the moment, those are my favorites :flowerforyou:0
