Scales are not showing a decrease in my weight, however my clothes are becoming slightly loose on me n my body is changing...

The problem: im only losing weight on the top half of my body... My 'bottom' has always been the biggest prob but im starting to look slightly distorted. Im doing cardio n weight training at home. For the last 3days I have incorporated squats n lunges. Is there anything else I can do?

That sounds normal to me, I lost inches before pounds too from strength training, you are losing fat. I am a pear shape which it sounds like you are as well, and I lose weight on the top before the bottom. Your bottom will catch up, mine is already catching up and I've only lost 12 pounds so far.

Sadly, as far as I know, you can't spot treat. For me it's the opposite. My upper body is fat, and weak. My legs are strong and thin. Which makes buying pants an annoyance to say the least. What I have noticed about weight loss, is that it happens subtly in order from the last place you gained. For example, I've noticed my wrists are much thinner, causing the round bone to pop out. I'm like great.... now if I could lose the lunch lady arms we'd be set. Other than that, the first places I've really noticed it was in my hips and *kitten*. Which is probably the last place I gained, because as long as I can remember I've had flabby arms and a belly. :( Just be patient and keep working. :)

Thank u ladies! Reassuring to kno that I am not alone, I am a pear with an enormous bottom half. Will cont with the training and hopefully my glute muscles will start shifting the fat.

I've been thinking the exact same thing! Lost inches in my waist, colar bones are sticking out, my face is looking much thinner and my hips and thighs measure the same as when I started. I think I'm finally at peace with this though. If I make it to my goal weight and my thghs are still big I'm getting laser lipo though

I've lost 25 lbs, but my hips and thighs have only gone down slightly while my waist, neck, face are slimming really quickly. Frustrating, but hang in there, it'll catch up eventually.

The key is to not give up! A pear shape tends to lose from the top half first, and the hips last.

I feel your pain. I will always be a pear, but I went from a squishy pear, to a fresh picked firm pear =P I'm still working on it. I have a bony upper half (you can see my friggin chest plate) and a very full bottom. Trying to even it out by building up my upper body a bit.

Fat comes off in unpredictable ways, but we all still win in the end.

Yeah, some of us ladies just carry our junk in our trunks.

Since I've been here, I've lost 4 inches from my waist; one inch from my hips. I've got a feeling the fat on my bum and thighs is going to put up a fight.

Even though you can't target one area to lose weight from, you could try some toning exercises, like these

Me too. But squats are making a difference. Keep at it.
