What kind of weather do you love to run/walk/exercise in?

I live in So. Cal and I’m forced to tolerate the sunshine and warmth on a daily basis almost year round… Yes, I’m complaining. LOL ! But, I’m kinda weird because I LOVE dreary, cold, sunless days when it’s raining or snowing and really cloudy. I just can’t tell you how theses kinds of days give me so much energy and JOY!!
I was feeling like I couldn’t go for my daily hike today … but it started misting and the clouds rolled in and everything IS SO FREAKIN LOVELY!!!! I’m going for a loooong walk. *sigh*
Does anyone else love “moody blue" days?

Yeah...me.
I prefer any other weather to bright sunshine and the summer months. You can add layers and wrap up warm in the winter but can only do so much in the summer to cool down.
Walking in the sun makes me lethargic and drains energy far too quickly :grumble:0 -
50-65 degrees, sunny and calm
But then I live in Montana where it's usually either hot or cold. I think it depends on where you live and then you like whatever gives you a new and different experience from the every day.0 -
I prefer cool. clear weather. I live in southeast Texas, so the summers can be brutal. And since I have lost weight, I get cold easily, so I don't like it when it is too cold. That being said, I will pretty much go out in anythng just to make sure I get in my exercise!0

summer rain (warm, none of that cold end of summer nasty) is my second favorite.
favorite is the first winter snow - the big pretty flakes (none of that tiny, dry, cold snow, I'm talking "the world is a snow globe!" kind of snow that even adults grin at when they see).
So Cal would be a horrible place to live for me - except for the stupid beautiful produce at farm stands year round. Damn your ability to grow citrus locally!0 -

Oh snow, how I love snow! I live @ 3000 ft in the Santa Suzanna’s so growing citrus is a no go for me unfortunately… but, yeah, we’re spoiled in that regard. I can get or grow almost any kind of fruit or veggies year round. But, I’m originally from South Eastern Ohio and I miss the distinct seasons.
I’ll trade you half your rainy, cloudy days for endless supplies of citrus and avocados…deal?0 -
Cool, Crisp fall weather!!0

I can see you are dedicated no matter what!! Great JOB! You rock! 105 lbs. is an awesome achievement!!0 -
rain, wind, I love it. Snow too, especially at night. I'll toss on Star Wars/Star Trek/Firefly OST's and go.0

I like cool or cold weather, and the darker the better. Heat and humidity bother my asthma, and I hate the sun (I know, I know...) It's been about 40 degrees and clear at night lately, which means it's PERFECT.
When my friend goes on about how awesome it was to run on a 93-degree, humid day, I want to vomit. Different strokes, I guess.0 -
I like to run in the cold.. I'm finding that. Helps clear my sinuses out and makes me feel a hundred percent better.
Other then that, I'm a warm weather gal.. I hate cold, rainy, wet weather.0 -
Rain baby! All the way.
With out sounding totally cheesy, makes me feel free!0 -
Colder the better for this Scotsman :-)0

Thank you! If we actually had SNOW here I would love to be out in it. For that, I certainly would not mind the cold!0 -
Cloudy, chilly, maybe a slight mist in the air that could border on a sprinkling of rain but not enough to really start making me feel damp.0
-
My least favourite is hot, humid summer weather otherwise (except for freezing rain) it's all good; in fact some of my my most enjoyable runs have been in the winter with freshly fallen snow.0
-
I have been exercising for 2 years regularly but haven't started loosing till 3 weeks ago summers are brutal here so I either swim early outside or at an indoor pool. I recently found bicycle riding outside and am loving it and I am gonna do that as often as long as the weather allows me.... so far I love 50-60 degree mornings with no wind clear skys and fall colors. Summer 8 am swims in cold water before it heats up to bath temps is pretty nice. It doesn't snow here often but whenever it does I' am taking walks in it reminds me of growing up in Upstate NY.0
-
I much prefer mountain biking, but I'll still chime in:
Thunderstorms, or really, and amount of rain, as long as it's not really cold or...
In the middle of freaking winter, 10 below, with snow on the ground!
That, or at night.
Yeah, I'm weird. Give me sunshine, and I get bored.0 -
Cool, Crisp fall weather!!
definitely this up in New England0 -
I like a breezy fall day with leaves blowing all around.0

Come up to milwaukie or
It's sounds like it would be perfect for you0 -

Yes. Perfect.
But I do enjoy running in a warm light to medium rain.0 -

totally get this! I love running/cycling/walking in the rain. It's like the cool of the rain and the heat of your body makes you feel seperate from the world but at one with it too. Sound like a hippy maaaaan;)
Love snow for walking, but not great other things. ooohh and walking the dog on frosty mornings.
pretty much describes the Welsh weather, guess I live in right place0 -
I am in northern NJ and ran yesterday in first snow and it was wonderful. It seems the world just quiets down and most people head for shelter so it is just me and the flakes coating the grass and covering the branches. We were getting a wet snow so the flakes were large and fluffy.
Summer is great but when its to hot its harder to hydrate0 -

Yeaaah maan, totally feeling the vibes
But yeah also from the UK, so rain is generally going to happen which is goood for the exercise side of things however not so much for the trying to keep my hair straight night out haha0 -
I need three things:
1) sunshine
2) mild temperatures
3) slight breeze
so early fall and late spring weather (minus all that damn rain) is the best for me. if its cold (or even too cool), I won't run for very long. if it's too hot, I tend to run longer than I need (ya weird I know).
so somewhere around 70-75 degrees would be perfect0 -

Exactly what it’s doing now!!! I just got back from a hike…I’m a bit damp but I loved it. I think I’ll walk to the store now too… love this weather! * maniacal laugh*0 -

I don't think you have much of a choice in the matter
My Sister lives up Scotland and I have honestly never felt such a wind!0 -

That about sums it up - if I waited for ideal conditions to run I'd never go out! So I learned to love the conditions I get :-)0
