First 50 lbs gone YAY ME !!!

Hello all. I have achieved my first 50 lbs gone. I started this project back in April of 2012. I was 357 at my highest. My girlfriend was on the verge of breaking up with me, and I don't blame her. I worked my butt off, and achieved some success, got down to 329, bounced back up to 336, 341, back down to 336 when I was reminded of MyFitnessPal. I decided to start using it. The next 30 lbs came off quickly. I am now 306 and change, and have a lot to go. I'll try to find some pics. I don't really take pictures of myself that often.

Great job! and if the gf was going to break up with you becasue of your weight, id ditch her
  • WTG!! :drinker: Keep up the hard work and most importantly the dedication. That is an awesome milestone you have crossed over. Dont look back straight ahead from here on out!
  • Congratulations on your 50 lb weight loss!!!!! I mean that is awesome! I understand where you are coming from when you say your girlfriend was going to break up with you. I think what bothers me about that is, was she going to break up with you because you were obese and she didn't like that, or was she going to break up with you because you were a walking heart attack and honest to goodness wanted you to do something so she could love you a very long time? I'm hoping it is the latter, because everyone is worthy of love sweetie... even the obese.

Keep it moving... you are doing fantastic!!!!

I have had my fare share of ups and downs in my relationship, but she still stuck by me, and I have stuck by her. Things have gotten a lot better since that time.

I have a feeling it was the second option. We have been together for 5 years, and I know she has worried that I may someday have a heart attack, or some other serious problem where I may die . It could also be a little part of the first option too.

5 years ago, I started this sit down job, and I got into a relationship raising a child. Both of those not very physically active lifestyles. I slowly gained weight over my career and my relationship. Went from 250 to 350 over those 5 years. Time for a change. Back on the downward trend very quickly thanks to MFP and all of you here. Thanks all for the support.

The reason we're all here is to better ourselves. I'm glad my small words of inspiration inspire you to be better than yesterday.

I actually did break up with her back in April (for other reasons) for many months. Had to let her know that I have feelings too, and wouldn't tolerate how I was being treated. We got back together a couple of months ago. Things are much better.
