How to get Abs :)

Options
Hi all need some advice!

Whats the best way to get abs? All through sit ups? Or other exercises?

Also how long did it take you to get abs?

I have a rather flat stomach but would love for my abs to be more defined!

Thank you :)

he right - abs are made in the gym but you will only find them in the kitchen! eat clean, train hard.

    110% diet.

This was achieved with zero ab work:

    Agreed.

I always get asked about what I do for my abs.

I do nothing for them. I hate ab work.

What type of food then do I need to be eating/ avoiding?

At the moment im on a low carb, high protein diet, so im eating lots of egg whites, chicken, fish, veg,

How long do you think until I will start seeing results.

But do do a lot of exercises that involve them, I bet :).

But yes, you'll see some really skinny people that don't work out who have defined abs thanks to just the low body fat.

Me, I've been doing the 'weider 6' program because I can do it anywhere without extra equipment and there's an easy app for that. Also specifically want to improve them for rock climbing, where a strong core is very important.
Just so that when I do hit my target, there's a bit more definition underneath - though I don't think they'll start showing before I bulk up and cut again, so far can see a bit of improvement and a slight 'tone' showing through.

It's all about bf% the lower the bf the more your abs will show so it is 100% diet. Abs are made in the kitchen =P

It's mostly through diet. Strength training helps, like all over strength training, because muscle burns fat!!

I actually have a YouTube video called "The Real Secret to Killer Abs" that I have been told is very helpful. I'd post the link directly but MFP would give me a strike. My YouTube name is Jaymebales83 and you can find it in the LifeStyle info playlist.

    this!

its all about bodyfat %... a decent strength regime on a small deficit with mainly clean food should get you there.

Diet. You need to lose the fat on your stomach to show your abs. All the ab exercises in the world won't help if you still have the extra bit of fat there.

That said, if you want really defined abs (more than just a flat stomach) you'll have to have some decent muscle there. It doesn't have to be from specific ab exercises though, many others work your core enough to see muscle definition there such as squats and deadlifts! :D
