I just overate

I'm not sure why but I've been extraordinarily hungry the past couple of days...and tonight I ate 6 chicken tacos...yes, they are the "healthy" at home kind with low carb shells, 2% cheese, light sour cream, and the chicken breast/salsa crock pot meat...but 6!..really?!?! I was so hungry and they tasted so good. I overate...and now I feel bad about it. Grrr...my food addiction continues to haunt me. I'm only about one month into myfitnesspal.com and I've been doing good...but now I feel myself slipping...giving in to that hunger feeling...giving in to my addiction. I want to do this...but that self defeating inner voice starts to say "forget it, I'll just be fat and happy.", "I just want to eat like everyone else does", "I'd rather eat yummy food than work this hard to TRY to be thin"...and so on and so forth. Ugh. I'm feeling bad. Hopefully I didn't blow my entire week. I weigh in Monday.

  • Overeating chicken tacos is much better than other options. If you were hungry your body was saying your calorie intake was way too low and wanted to make it up. Don't fret too much. It's long term and I'm sure this one night did not mess up your whole weekend. Just drink plenty of water to displace any sodium intake and do what you usually do. If your weigh-in seems off, wait a day or two and try again. Sodium can add a couple pounds in simple water weight, which will fall off in a couple days

omg 6! really? were you really that hungry or did you eat them because they were there? maybe cook smaller amounts that way you can't over eat. increase your exercise or just go for a good walk. don't get down on yourself! you CAN do it!

Overeating once and getting over it is much better than falling off the wagon completely. Don't get discouraged!!

It happens. I've had days/meals like that. Some days I'm just more hungry and other days I don't eat nearly as much. It's all part of the process! Tomorrow is a new day darling!

Don't be frustrated with yourself. Look at this as an opportunity to review your nutrition. I don't believe you have to be starving all the time to lose weight.

Increasing your protein intake (and decreasing the carbs) has helped me A LOT with hunger. I feel amazing now.

Kombucha is awesome after a meal, a couple bottles of water, step outside: these are all great options when you have that burning hunger. If its an addiction then you might want to check out the OA group on this site, they also have meetings that can help get to the root of the food issue (if food is the symptom and not the problem ie. addiction) other then that GUILT IS POINTLESS. its over and done and you can only move forward not backwards. Take ownership/accountability of the 6 tacos that were great and keep going forward. dont beat yourself up. and sometimes you have to bottom out of eating and then go full force when your ready. but you got to find the root of the food issue.

Hey' it happens. Don't do it again tomorrow. Don't eat crap all night now, just because you " blew" the day. That's how you gain control. Not perfect control... Not all the time...Just pretty good control most of the time.

Being that hungry could be a sign that your calories are too low. If you constantly feel deprived, maybe it's time to revamp your diet plan. Feeling deprived is one of the major causes of failure IMO. It has to be something you can live with.

For the record, I could easily down 6 tacos. This girl loves to eat, always have and always will. Thats why I had to learn to love exercise so that I could still eat and lose. My losses have been slow but I rarely feel deprived

I make a mustard green casserole with the big can of greens, whole roll of sausage, cheese ... U name it, i aye the whole thing, the next day i was 4lbs up and i was pissed! I didn't exercise that night, then went back to exercising the next day, i dropped the 4 lbs plus some... So it helped me to break a plateau.. But good lord it sucked to be that full, and guilty.. So know they only time i make it is of m my mom is helping d eat it!

So this is one of the many reasons I love this website...the support is awesome! Thank you all. I'm currently drinking water and watching a movie with my husband...(and surfing myfitnesspal!!) In the past I would probably just eat a bunch of crap and completely go crazy...but I'm not going to do that this time. I'm making changes. Thanks again for the many words of encouragement. I could use more friends on here...friend me please!!

Can I make a *little* suggestion?

This might sound odd, but -

Move your weigh-in day off of Monday. I think that the weekend is when most people indulge, and if you weigh in on Monday, it isn't gonna be pretty.
