Ate a Lot of Popcorn Last Night

My father & I went to the movies together & we ate a LOT of popcorn. At first, I told myself that I wouldn't feel bad because we never get to do things like this together & we had fun. However, afterwards I was extremely bloated, & as the night went on, I had to keep telling myself, 'it was only one day,'. I drank a lot of water for diuresis to reduce the water-weight bloating. I also exercised a bit.

I've eaten very well for the entire week & am eating well today; yesterday was my only 'bad' day -- I know that everyone has them, sometimes. I'm not sure what I expected by posting this thread, I just wanted to share it with you all & know that I'm going to keep fighting & working hard regardless.

On a side note, I'm also on Day 8 of the 30DS. Do you think that this will affect me with my 30DS progress?

Popcorn and I are not friends, either. I LOVE it but it just doesn't love me back. I'll sneak a cup or so of it when I make it for my kiddos but it's always like eating a lead balloon. I'll learn one day. :) One popcorn binge won't affect your progress, you'll probably just be bloated for a few days. Keep drinking!

One day isn't going to de rail you, especially if it was just the one snack. I assume you ate well the rest of the day. Just chalk it up to fun family time, and move on. I have one of those about once a week.

That is one reason I just rent movies at home. I love my air popper =).

Popcorn itself is really a pretty healthy snack, its just all the oil and salt they pop with it that packs on the calories/sodium.

I caved and had pizza last night with the family. Yesterday was my scheduled treat day though, so I am ok with it. I do plan to hit the gym this morning and it's leg day, so challenging. When I eat junk food I always get a bit of garbage gut afterwards.... I eat clean for the most part. A night off is what helps us keep our sanity;) Have a good day today, best of luck and continued success.

You'll be fine, just keep doing what you're doing! One free day (or one "unhealthy" snack/meal, in your case) won't undo all your hard work. Lots of people I know- myself included- have some kind of wiggle room like that worked into their program.

And no, I think you'd have to eat enough popcorn to make a dent in the worldwide supply to throw you off of your 30DS progress. I'm on Day 3 myself, and I'll bet you burn off every popcorn calorie you ate and then some in the next session. Jillian will take care of that popcorn problem for you, butter and all

I can't really recommend movie theater popcorn, with all the salt and oil they put on it, but air-popped popcorn with a little butter-flavored cooking spray is a great alternative to chips and other salty or fatty snacks.

Have you ever tried that Orville Reddenbacher 94% calorie reduced popcorn? That have individual portion bags (100 cal each). The regular sized bags are 260 cal.

It was only one day. Life will be filled with "one days" - birthdays, parties, holidays, special occasions, etc. If you let each and every one of those freak you out and get you off track, you'll be in for a lot of unneccessary stress and anxiety. And you'll probably eventually get derailed.

No need to stress. Drink water, workout, and know that you didn't get fat in one day, or from eating popcorn one time. Make 80% of your choices good ones and the other 20% won't matter too much.

I actually don't eat popcorn at all except when we go to the movies -- and since that's literally once every 1-3 years, it comes very rarely. I eat well every single day -- I've always loved healthy food, so fruits are my daily 'treats'!

Thank you all for your support, & I wish you all the same amount of success on your goals

Now, for all of us to conquer Thanksgiving . . .
