I am really struggling to fit everything in at the moment, I'm working full-time, have 3 kids and am so exhausted when I get home that I really don't want to spend the tiny amount of free time I have doing an exercise DVD!

I thought as a compromise I could work out on something like a cross-trainer in front of something watchable - I'm well aware its not as good, but it *is* better than nothing. At the mo I am getting out once a week with a friend and at weekends but I know it needs more.

There are millions of things out there so would really like something someone can recommend, ideally that I can put away in a corner when not in use. I had a lateral thigh trainer which I did actually think was quite good so have considered getting another of those.

Suggestions? :flowerforyou:

I have a treadmill, a rowing machine and an exercise bike. The treadmill and rower fold up but you still need a good amount of floor space to be able to use them, the bike isn't too bad size wise.

There are so many to choose from so i can't really recommend as it all depends on your budget and the space you have. I got my bike from John Lewis and love it.

A proper, heavy, old skool, hardstyle kettlebell.

You'll only need to play with it for 5-12mins a day, fits in any corner. You can't watch tv while you're doing it though, because you'll be too busy.

How heavy would you get a beginner's kettlebell for? If I could get a decent workout in 15 mins I'd be prepared to get up that amount earlier tbh.

Where do you get adjustable ones, I've googled but can't see any adjustable ones???

I do exactly that - I have a stationary bike and watch DVDs while exercising. I have 3 children and a job too, and finding time to exercise can be really difficult! I get up at 6am most mornings to do something (either the bike or a workout DVD). The only thing that I go out to do is swimming, and I usually take at least one child with me - they play one the slide while I do lengths. Oh, and walks/bike rides at weekends, but the weather is conspiring against that at the moment.

My bike came from Amazon. It is a folding one so fits into a corner when I'm not using it.

I bought my adjustable kettlebell from Tesco's. Its from the Kelly Holmes range and cost just under £20. It adjusts from 3kg to 7.5kg.

I do the JM kettlebell workout with mine and have found no probs with it whatsoever.

    HTH

For CV I just have a treadmill. Other equipment I have is a multigym and free weights.

Got it all off ebay, total price of under £500.

The treadmill was about £250, lovely couple came and delivered it personally as they said that was cheaper than a courier! It works great...12km max speed and 16 max incline. Displays calories which can be manually changed to match a HRM and has some inbuilt CV programmes too. Only unattractive feature is that the display is lime green. Can dig out the link if you like?

helyg I think your kids must be a little older, my oldest is 6and although he can just about swim you aren't allowed to leave them unsupervised until they are at least 8. My other 2 are 4 and 20 months!!

I already get up at 6 am for work, its why I'm so reluctant to get up any earlier!!

IThanks so much for the tip off about the Kelly Holmes adjustable kettlebell I will def invest in one of those I have loads of clubcard vouchers!!
