Hydrophobia!

I just can't make myself drink water today. I don't want it. It probably has something to do with having to get up 2-5 times per night to pee.

I think writing that made me thirsty. Anybody else?

Just because "everybody" says you "have to" drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, don't ignore what your body is telling you. There's nothing scientific at all about that amount. If you're getting up that often in the night, you're well-hydrated. If you aren't thirsty, don't drink!

There is absolutely no truth to having to drink 8 glasses or more of water a day. You need liquids to stay hydrated but it you have to get up that often then you're more than well hydrated.

I try to drink most of my water in the morning, because if I drink a liter before bed, I pee every 2 hours.

omigosh .. I have the hardest time drinking water. Once I started doing this when I joined back in Sept.. I might as well be past due on pregnancy and having to go every 3 minutes. I'll go ..and as I walk out the bathroom .. I think I have another urge. After 2 months of drinking all this water .. It hasn't changed. I figured it would get better .. ugh .. I find that I drink less plain water now because I just can't afford or have the time to run to the bathroom every few minutes. I prefer not having to go for several hours .. LOL

I drink when I'm thirsty, but I usually get 12-16 glasses/day, and I rarely (maybe once/month tops) wake up needing to use the bathroom.

Needing to go repeatedly during the night was the only symptom my father was aware of when he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. If it persists tonight, or if you're not feeling well, I'd get in to see your doc (if I were you).
  • I am a *drinker*. Always drinking something. Water. Diet coke. And have found since I lost the 54 lbs that my bathroom *urges* have gotten WAY better. Used to have to go NOW. I can now last way longer. Anyone else notice this?

I've been tested and negative but not for awhile. Will bring it up when I see my doc; should be pretty soon.

I know. It's a great word, though; wanted to use it.

  • I too have the "pee" problem, but mine is during the day! I drink most of my water before 2:00. After 2:00, I only drink after my workout and with dinner, doing this eliminates the need to get up in the middle of the night and I still get plenty of water in for the day! Good luck on your journey!
