Diary Help/Advice

I've been on MFP for nearly 100 days and I have lost about 8 pounds, but I feel like I've stalled (no weight or measurement changes for about a month). Since weight-loss is about diet, it must be the way I am eating. Could anyone look at my diary and give me some advice? Some info:
Height: 5'5.5"
HW: 160
SW: 146.5
CW: 138.4
GW: 120
Also, I used to be very active exercising often every day very hard but I started failing my classes so this semester I am just exercising when I can which is just a few times a week and using a heart rate monitor. So I have muscle definition and strength I just don't burn much. And since I am cooped up in the library almost all day and night I am basically sedentary.
Finally, I know that 1230 may seem low, but I started MFP at 1540, and moved up to 1600 after reading info on here but wasn't loosing anything. Eventually I moved it down to 1450, 1300, and eventually 1230 where I am now. No matter how much or little I eat I can't seem to loose much. Can anyone give me some insight?
P.S. I drink 3L of water a day, before anyone asks. I love water it's my favorite.

Are you weighing all your food before eating it?
Are you eating out? A bagel from a bakery can say it is only 280 calories for 1 bagel but the bagel weighs more than it is suppose to and can easily pack a hundred extra calories.
I think exercising 2-3 times a week is plenty.0 -
I started losing when I was around 145 lbs (I'm 5'6" so just a bit taller) and I think it just takes more time the lower you get. I lost around 1 lb a week for a while, but by 135 lbs it was less than 1 lb a week, and now I can go 3 weeks with no change until I weigh in one morning and find that I've lost 1 or even 2 lbs overnight.
It's important to just stick with it and be patient. Focus on eating lots of vegetables and fruits (always seems to help me), and getting in as much exercise as you can. I have a goal of 1350 calories (net) a day, but occasionally I will go under that if my appetite isn't there, especially on days where I'm doing high cardio and thus have a ton of calories to eat back. It's a slow game once you get into the 130s, but it's also the rest of your life, so who cares? You have all the time in the world.0 -
Thanks, I guess I'm just being impatient. I just have never lost weight before without doing something extreme, so I'm worried that slow and steady might not work for me. Is it just nerves then?0

I do around 1200 per day as well, but I dont exercise (various injuries mean Im taking a break for a while).
You seem to be doing really well, sometimes the weight loss can stall, especially as you are at a healthy weight - the more you loose the harder it is to loose! I find low carb helps with shifting the last few stubborn pounds, but this is my personal preference (im gluten intolerant), and the same eating plan doesnt work for everyone.
I think really you just need to stick at it. You are probably close to your ideal weight (you look very slim in your profile pic) so it will take longer to loose the final few pounds.
Also what kind of workouts / exercise are you doing? You might need to change that up a bit and / or go harder to loose the final pounds!0 -
It sounds like you're hitting that dreaded plateau.. Our bodies reach a point where they like the extra fat and don't want to let it go!
Also keep in mind that changing your lifestyle, while it's a much better way to lose weight and keep it off, takes longer. I get frustrated a lot that I'm not looking as cut as I want but it can take up to a year of consistent healthy eating and exercise to get the results you're hoping for.
If you aren't tired or hungry then you're doing great. Perhaps try increasing the intensity of your workouts? Your body gets used to them so some good old-fashioned circuit training should confuse it enough to jumpstart your metabolism.Keep it up!
