Lunch & snack suggestions-

Hi all-
I'm finding lately that I'm super hungry between lunch and dinner. I eat lunch at 1:30ish (breakfast is at 10:00ish) and snack at about 4:30ish. From breakfast to lunch I'm fine, but after that I get super hungry. I also just re-started working out in the morning again (I had switched to afternoons/nights for the winter), so I don't know if that's making me hungrier maybe until my body adjusts to the new routine?
:flowerforyou: ** I'm gluten-intolerant, so keep that in mind when you offer me suggestions** :flowerforyou:
Typical lunch: around 375 to 400 calories, 46g carbs, 15g fat, 17g protein
- granny smith apple
- yogurt (i occasionally have egg beaters w/ cheese instead of the yogurt)
- string cheese OR cottage cheese
- raw almonds
Typical snack: around 175 to 200 calories, 35g carbs, 5g fat, 11g protein
- Southbeach protein bar
- Orange
Anyone have any suggestions, or see something "wrong"? I'm a pretty picky eater, so I must warn you!
Remember- no gluten!!

I'm no expert but it looks like you need to eat a little more at lunch. If you like veggies eat a big salad with light dressing or some homemade soup. The apple is good because it has a high fiber and water content that will fill you up but some of the smaller stuff will not keep your stomach full. Maybe try a turkey wrap with no cheese and some fruit, some whole wheat pasta with sauce, or maybe a baked potato with salsa, black beans and a little fat free sour cream. I know the higher the volume of food I eat at lunch the more satisfied I am. If I eat oatmeal or a hard boiled egg for breakfast, a protein bar mid-morning, then lunch and an apple or something small about 4:00p, then I am good until dinner (which is usually about 7pm by the time I get home)
I'm vegetarian so a good bit of the food I make is low in calories but high in fiber so that helps me too.0 -
Hey Kelynn! What about pasta, pretzels, crackers, cake, cookies, haha just kidding, I know ALL those things have gluten! My favorite snack is hummus and carrots... you eat meat don't you? What about deli turkey for lunch... I wrap mine in the string cheese or any kind of cheese and dip in hummus, sounds gross but its yummy, also what about trail mix? You can make your own or there are a lot of good ones out there. Good luck!

Just wondering how much water are you drinking? If you aren't drinking much, add some more to your daily intake, that will help you feel full as well.0

I drink a minimum of 13 glasses a day... so I think I drink plenty! Thanks, though!0

or baby carrots w/ a bit of ranch dressing delicious.0 -
I can't have bread... as I said, I'm gluten intolerant, but thanks for the suggestion.0

Yeah, I'd say you have enough water daily. lol0

My grandma used to call me a camel when I was a little girl. I am just one of those people that *always* has a bottle or cup of water in my hand... and therefore I'm also one of those people that uses the bathroom 25 times a day (and night!) :laugh:0
