Are there any marathon or half marathoners here? I have been training for my first full marathon (total disaster on a mountain train, only finished 20 miles...UGH don't get me started) and will continue to train for one in January. Discovered that carb loading and recover meals (and by recovery meals I mean "I JUST RAN FIFTEEN MILES I CAN EAT ANYTHING...AND EVERYTHING") had me gain some inches and a few lbs. I need to get with the program and would love to have some runner friends on here. How do you manage your carb loading? Recovery?

Right now my runs are between 3-6 miles (7 at the longest). I just take the extra calories for my bank and have something a little excessive for dinner, or lots of beer).
I was unclear on some of the training concepts associated with running and I'm currently battling Planar Faciatis. I've since been hitting Active.com and purusing the running articles.
When I'm running more than once a week again, this becomes very important to me.

This is one of the best training programs out there for getting you ready to run a maraton. Some of the local running clubs in Orlando follow this and I followed it when I ran my first marathon over 15 years ago (I've only done two). It's a good program - good luck!
