Sugar free jelly or a frozen banana and half a tablespoon of cocoa and a bit of sweetner in the blender.

Don't buy sweet stuff to keep in the house. If you are "binging" then you must have access to a significant quantity of the kind of foods you struggle with. I am the same and have learned if it is there I will eat it, if it isn't I won't.

Thank you everyone for your tips. I am having a SERIOUS problem with this lately and need to change the kind of food that I keep in the house. I will use these tips!

Rule all foods out that cause problems - go on a good detox! I honestly don't have a sweet tooth because I never eat sweets, and my body/mind doesn't crave those things anymore. What is that saying - it takes 14 days to make something a habit? Just push through 14 days of not eating before bed and it will get much easier!

If you are 'craving' sugar try cutting your daily sugar intake. The more you eat the more you want. Cut back and you will crave it less.

Herbal tea helps me at night. I have a very sweet herbal tea that I love to have at night when I'm relaxing. It has citrus in it, but a slice of clementine or orange in it makes it extra nice.

I'll also make sure that I have a good dinner. If I'm satisfied with dinner, I don't find myself snacking as much at night or having cravings. If I'm not happy with my dinner, I'll crave more.

A good piece of dark chocolate, eaten slowly, or dipped in a tsp of peanut butter. Or plain greek yogurt topped with berries or pears, or whatever I've got, and drizzled with honey.

I've taken to buying the instant chocolate powder that's only 40 calories per cup. It does the job and takes a while to drink so kills off any other cravings.

Failing that brushing my teeth and getting ready for bed usually does the trick for me - seems to be a psychological thing that tells me I've finished eating for the day.
  • Low fat yogurt and a scoop of chocolate protein powder. 180 cal 26g protein, and 18g carbs. I'm on a 1500 cal a day diet, so I save the 180 for a night time snack. Lost 14 lbs and only 6 more to go.
