Set myself back with workout program, need HELP?

Hey Everyone. So I started doing the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred at 136.7 pounds. I got up to my first day of Level 3, and started slacking off. I was able to keep up fine because I have done workout programs in the past, but lost motivation. There came my birthday, my moms wedding, celebrating food and drinking! Grrr. Basically now I'm back at square one, exactly...So since I have to lose weight again heres my problem. I have already gained muscle from doing turbo fire, half of p90x, and now some of the 30 day shred. I dont want to gain too much muscle If I repeat the program. I was also thinking of just doing the last 10 days so that I wouldnt gain too much back, and my body doesnt have the muscle memory that I've done that already. I need some help! Should I repeat the program? I use 4 lb weights but also have twos. Gotta burn this fat! I know she has another program Ripped in 30 but getting ripped isnt what I need. My biceps are already pretty big and Im not liking the way its looking without losing these last 15 pounds. Thanks guys. xo

can't you just use a lower weight and more reps to avoid getting larger?
perhaps focus more on food intake rather than exercise to lose that 15lbs?0 -
You are not going to gain muscle if you aren't eating enough or lifting heavy enough...four pound dumbells...ooooohkaaaay! *eyerolls*0

You'll only bulk up if you are lifting heavy and eating to feed your muscles... Even lifting heavy and eating a normal diet you aren't going to turn into a body builder.
Put more walking into your workout... Walk 2/3 miles a day and that will help allot0 -
I'm not exaggerating, I have big muscles. I was using 8 lb weights with p90x and doing max reps. now Im doing less because I want less muscles. I'll just stick with the four and try repeating the program.0

Just walk at a brisk pace... Somewhere between 3.1-3.5 miles and hour and that'll do ya!0 -
I am sorry. I gotta tell you: You are not going to get bigger muscles, probably no matter what you do.
Have you ever seen ballerinas? Up close? Do you know how hard they exercise? Day after day after day.
They're light and petite. Why? Because they are women, and women have an extremely hard time building muscle.
Even gymnasts don't get that big, and they start doing things that require incredible strength at a very young age and they keep after it.
If you want to lose some weight, watch what you eat. And, don't worry about working out. You can do it as much as you want.0 -
The only reason why your arms look so big, is because of the fat on top of them... Lose that and they'd look a lot leaner.
I'd focus more on diet then exercise if I were you.0 -
You're not going to get big muscles from eating at a deficit and lifting weights under 10 pounds. I wish it was that easy!!! Although I'm a big advocate of strength training and I believe you should be doing both strength and cardio...but maybe what your looking for right now is just some pure cardio. HIITS, Walking, jogging, running, cycling, elliptical, aerobics/ zumba. Take a few weeks and just dedicate them to cardio and sticking to your calorie goal. After a few weeks then return to doing both strength and cardio.0

I've never advocated for "skinny fat" but if that's your goal, then just stop doing the lifting days and do all cardio.0

Hmm..sounds like you've been conditioned to think a few things that are absolutely false. No Jillian Michaels dvd is going to make you bulky--it's hard work to gain mass. Redo it if you like it. Don't do it if you don't enjoy it. Strength training to maintain muscle mass is very important for your overall health, physique, and metabolic rate. I don't recommend dropping it if you can help it.0

Honestly, I pull 150lb deadlifts and don't look bulky by anyone's definition. You certainly won't get that way from 4lb weights and 30DS.0

Are your biceps really growing? Have you taken measurements?
Or perhaps you've just removed fat from over the muscle revealing more of it?0 -
If you can put on muscles that fast I would consider entering a bodybuilding competition because I am an easy gainer and I have to lift heavy ( nothing below 30 pounds dumbbells) and eat a lot to put on 1 pound of pure muscle a month. Can muscles be swollen, sure that one is easy......gaining muscles? Much harder.0

I don't think your problem is gaining too much muscle. I think it might be the weight gain combined with the muscle. Stop making excuses as to why you are not eating right. life happens with or without us. All we can do is adapt to our surrounding without falling off track.
The majority of looking lean is in your diet. If you are truly as muscular as you say then I would start doing more cardio with some maintenance workouts three times a week to keep the muscle you already have. If you want to crank it up a notch, try doing two-a-days (cardio) until you get back to the weight you started before you "started-over".
If you really want it, you'll make the time. There is always a way! Are you willing to pave that way and make some small sacrifices for what you want most? With sacrifice, comes reward. How bad do you want it?0
