Whenever I'm feeling drained I have a steak that I pan fried in a cast iron pan.. Not a large steak, like a 6 ounce one. No sides with it, just steak.

I don't know why, but that fixes me almost every time. Sometimes change helps a lot. I've been having trouble getting on the treadmill on the weekends, so this weekend I'm set up to meet my dad and brothers for a run at a local park. I'm really looking forward to it! I just can't get myself on the treadmill on the weekend, so, that's an excellent substitute.

It may not be a bad idea to have your hemoglobin levels tested. Last time I felt drained I was anemic, I had tried to do the whole no red meat thing and it just didn't work for me.. lol

Do you have an indoor rock climbing gym near you? Take a buddy and try climbing if you've never done it before. There's usually a few beginner walls that almost anyone can climb. That can be a fun changeup if your routine is getting you down.

Thank you everyone for your input. There is a lot of great info here.

-I think I will start taking a multi-vitamin right away.
-Pregnancy is not possible and TOM isn't do for another week.
-I won't rule out a virus as I am really sluggish today too.
-I added protein to my diary to see what that looked like and I'm over almost every day.
-I was just at the doc last Thursday and had blood work done and all is good. But we were looking at thyroid, cholesterol and glucose that time. I've been on thyroid meds since 2006.
-Rest...that one is tougher. My resting has been just walking instead of walk/running and working out with very few days not doing anything. I am too scared to take multiple days off to rest for fear that starting again will be that much harder.
-Eat More...I may agree with that too. I will try adding in a few more calories and see if that's helps too.

Thank you all for the reassurance. It is so nice to be able to come here and talk to people that have gone through what I'm going through. You are all awesome.

I agree with those saying you need to eat more. You've been given the link to 'in place of a roadmap' on page 1. Take a read through that.

I'd also suggest reading the stickies here http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/3834-eat-more-to-weigh-less at the very least read the ones about TDEE & BMR and the one about Upping Calories and what to expect.

It really is a case of reading it for yourself. I took a good couple of weeks to read through threads in order to get it straight in my head. Best thing I ever did in relation to losing fat.

Just to give you an idea, I'm 42, 5'4" and eat 1850 each day with a week or so at 2050 every now and then. Some weeks I lose pounds on the scales, some I lose inches and some weeks I stay the same. Overall I've lost around 21 pounds since the end of April. I've gained some health benefits too and I'm convinced that they are due to the fact that I eat more eg excema has cleared up, IBS pains reduced to 1 or 2 days a month (used to be almost daily), rarely have headaches (again these used to be almost daily).

    Good luck :)
  • I think it's 2 fold.
Your on a hugh calorie deficit and your body needs to repair itself. Your body is using your current intake which isnt enough to repair some of the damage but it is building up. I made this mistake when I started and had 2 nasty food days and was back to 100% and pushing further than before because I learnt from my mistake.
Up the calories and have 2 rest days a week, not 2 straight days, say Tuesday and Friday. This will allow your body to fix the damage of working out and on the days off you can use those days to plan the exercise or food dairy for the next few days. Just because your not exercising doesn't you have to stop thinking about exercise and food.
    Hope you get things sorted

Congratulations on your success with your weight loss! I think you do need a rest day or two during the week. 4 or 5 days if exercise a week is what I usually get, and maybe some days it is just walking, which is still great. Reading what you have done so far is amazing, how you couldn't even make it to the mailbox, and now look what you have accomplished. Exercising in cold weather is definitely different, and you could just be adjusting to that as well. Don't rule out a doctor visit if after you try any of the advice that has been posted, but doctor visits are always my last resort!! :flowerforyou:

I agree with the others, you need more food and more rest. I know what you mean about the rest days, but they really are as important as the workout days for your body to repair itself.

If it helps, I have lost 70lbs so far from a similar sort of weight to where you started. I never eat fewer than about 1800 cals a day, and put two 'rest days' in my calendar each week.
