Need help.. Have A function in exactly 2 months. :(

Hello,
I have a family function coming up in exactly 2 months time & I really need to lose some weight. I don't have to attain my goal weight or anything. I just need to look a little less fat so that I can wear my dress neatly.
Current weight: 79Kg
Height :5 2"
I was hoping to get to 70 Kgs. I know it is tough. But have any of you attained it? I am willing to work real hard. & Since I don't have a job, I have enough time at home.
Please suggest a good exercise & diet regime to get me to 70 Kgs or close.
Thank you very much.

    HI,

Losing 20lbs in 2 months is going to take some work but you have to make sure that you do it right and not starve yourself and over exercise. Ill give you some insight (which you don't have to follow to a T because well im not a fitness doc or anything). First you need to have a routine. Do not go to the gym with out a plan. I would suggest getting one of those calendar white erase boards. This way you know weeks ahead of time what exercise you will be doing each day. Also do not do just cardio. Make sure to include some weight training. If unsure of what plans to do I would suggest visiting Bodybuilding.com. They have tons of free programs and you can cater it to your needs and many of them have meal plans as well. Also what you eat is extremely important. Does not matter if you are at the gym for 5 hours a day. If you fuel your body with crap you will get crap in return. Make sure you eat healthy and that you eat enough calories. DO NOT consume 1200 calories a day or less than that. Its dumb. If you are going to be working your body it needs fuel. You need to be very strict with your diet as you only have 2 months so NO CHEATING. Make sure you log everything and make sure not to work out 7 days a week. Give your body a day or two to relax (those days you can go for a nice walk).

    BEST OF LUCK!!
  • I've been following a Lean Body Fitness plan (I'm 5ft3in and weigh 100kg).

Day 1: No Carbs. 3 Meals of protein and healthy fats and a handul of nuts as a snack. 10 Minutes of exercise in the AM.
Day 2: No Carbs. 3 Meals of protein and healthy fats and a handul of nuts as a snack. 10 minutes of exercise in the AM and 20 minutes in the PM.
Day 3: Fast from dinner on day 2 for 17 hours (Dinner @ 7pm, first meal at 12 next day). 20 minutes in the PM.
Day 4:Fast from dinner on day 2 for 17 hours (Dinner @ 7pm, first meal at 12 next day). 10 minutes in the PM plus 20 minute brisk walk (not run)
Day 5: Rest day. 3 Meals of protein and healthy fats and a handul of nuts as a snack. 40 minute walk.
Day 6: No Carbs. 3 Meals of protein and healthy fats and a handul of nuts as a snack. 20 minues exercise in the AM and 10 in the PM.
Day 7: Fast from dinner on day 2 for 17 hours (Dinner @ 7pm, first meal at 12 next day).10 minutes in the PM plus 20 minute brisk walk (not run)

Do the same the next week and along side this take:
1 Glutamine Tablet in the AM and one in the PM (breakfast and bed)
    Omega 3 fish oil daily
    Vitamin D daily
Wheatgrass Tablet in the AM, Noon and PM (the powder is better but is not for the faint hearted!)

I've been following for 7 days and have lost 7lb and 12.5cm :)

The fasting is hard on day 1 and 2 but it DOES get easier!!

If you eat at a suitable deficit and exercise regularly, you can aim to lose 0.5 - 1 kg a week. That is a healthy and sustainable weight loss, and anything above that is just a bonus.

If you aren't familiar with weight training, I HIGHLY recommend it as an addition to a cardio routine. The difference that you see in your body through building muscle and tone, even if the scale doesn't move so much, is incredible! And when you wear your dress you will look nice and firm in it :)

If you want to really burn fat, interval training in your cardio workouts is much more effective than a long, steady walk/jog on the treadmill or whatever it is you like to do. Try going hard out for one minute and a steady pace for two and repeat until you can't do any more. This metabolises fat way quicker than steady cardio, increases your fitness dramatically, and you don't have to do it for as long!

As for diet...you can fill your calories with what you want as long as you stick within your goal. I personally prefer to eat mostly clean foods as I feel this helps me look and feel my best. Just be sensible. Eat less and move more!

Edited to add: also drink lots of water!! It will flush your system and stop you from retaining water :)

That is a very good advice you gave me. But could you help me with exercises that I can do at home since I don't have a gym anywhere close by?

    Hi
Nothing like a bit of pressure to get you going!
Firstly be positve and realistic and most importantly if you do not get to 70KG do not beat yourself up- very important! as loosing weight and toning up is more a way of life, sorry not lecturing.
Eat healthy, prepaid from scratch meals, with veg and carbs, drink water, avoid soda, plan a realistic exercise routine, with a days break inbetween.
    Good luck

nb. muscle weighs more than fat so by toning up you will look good even if the scales don't say what you want!

Run, run, and run some more. The weeks I run I find I lose 2ish pound and that's really with not taking any notice of MFP. I know it's hard if you haven't done it before but build up gradually. After a couple of weeks you should be able to run for 5 minutes comfortably. Try and do 1 minute walk, 1 minute run, for half hour. Next time, try do 2 minute run, 2 minute walk for half hour, then 2 minute run, 1 minute walk for half hour. Repeat the last step twice, then up the running by 1 minute. Get that comfortable, then up it again. I can run solid now for quite a while (until I get bored) and I've only been running since the end of July!

My hips have shrunk, my waist is smaller, my tummy doesn't stick out that much any more. It has totally changed my shape and I've only lost a stone! You'd think I'd have lost more the way I look.

Running however is hard and it's easy to give up. Concentrate on your breathing and try not to take in sharp, large, fast breaths. Try and regulate it as much as you can and it wont be as uncomfortable.

    Good luck with everything xxx
