Both. I try to keep my carbs around 100g, and I find that if I have high sugar intake that causes my stomach to complain.

Sugars are just a subset of carbs.
Unless you have a specific medical/dietary reason to avoid sugar, I'd just track carbs.

Tracking sugars will tend to have you avoiding perfectly good foods like fruit that should probably be in your diet, in moderation.

Depends.... Usually people go over their sugar grams but not carbs because of the natural sugar found in fruit.
Now if you're not sensitive to that, don't worry about it - if you're diabetic, pay attention

Watching your sugar grams isn't a yes or no but more of a "what's YOUR personal situation"

I track sodium, protein, and sugar. I don't eat processed foods...and only sugar in natural foods. I try and eat good fats, raw almonds, and avocado.. I don't eat much bread, pasta, or potatoes. I eat lots of lean meats, veggies, and some fruits.
  • Thanks for the answers! I an tracking both, i never go over my carb but i always seem to go over on my sugar.

    I track both but I don't fret if I go over a bit:smile:

I track carbs, but only to see it relative to protein and fat. I track protein, fat, carbohydrates, cholesterol and fiber.
