I'm hungry, what should I eat?

Its 7:30 Pm where I am and I am feeling a bit hungry, I have about 150 calories left today. Do you think a plout (cross between a plum and an apricot) WOuld be OK? Is it bad to eat fruit about 3 hours before you go to bed? I am going to wal mart yet tonight, I don't want to be hungry while I go, is fruit OK?

I'd have a large pizza, fries with gravy and wash it down with a chocolate shake.

No, there's absolutely nothing wrong with eating before bed. Caffeine before bed is bad, but food (of any kind) is not. Meal timing has no effect on weight loss.

Being in a calorie deficit is all that matters to lose weight. Fruit away!

    Enjoy your pluot.
  • I've been on a 900 calorie or less for about 4 weeks now. I lost 15 lbs fast b ut have been at a stand still for over a week. It's frustrating. Shouldn't the weight be coming off soon??????? Getting depressed and discouraged about it. Anyone else experienced this and how do I jump start the weight loss. I can't eat much less without passing out. I am also diabetic. Thanks!!! Hoping for some great support here.

  • you are eating tooooo little calories I think - why dont you mix it up a bit - they say a cheat day is great to do once a week !!! - pick a day and eat 1500 calories that day ( healthy 1500 though)

Considering you are diabetic, you need to be extremely careful. I would consult with your doctor our dietician. 900 calories is very low but I don't feel comfortable offering advice that may potentially harm. I have friends who have been very successful losing fat while still eating lots and staying active. You do not need to crash diet with excessive calorie deficit and feel weak and starved to lose. Weight lost slowly is easier kept off than weight lost through dramatic restriction. Best of luck.
  • if I'm hungry in the evening, I'll have a hard boiled egg, or mozzarella stick.

I applaud you wanting to improve yourself.

But surely you see a doctor about your diabetes. What does your doctor say about your eating habits? Please don't trust anonymous strangers with potentially life saving advice.

Edited to add....Sorry to thread jack. Sometimes I can't keep my mouth shut. My answer is yes, eat some fruit or 150 calories worth of donuts if you want.

thats ridiculous why would you tell her to eat 900 more if you dont know what she weighs her height or age
please go to BMR calculator and figure out a healthy amount of calories in which you can loose but still be safe

Hence the reason why I said "like" The number 900 was given to show a severe contrast to what she is eating now. And so it's clear, 1800 calories a day is not an outrageous number to suggest for slow and steady weight loss. Either way, it's not that ridiculous . What's ridiculous is eating 900 calories a day and feeling like you are going to faint. So focus on the actual matter at hand.

Some people find it difficult to sleep if they consume caffeine late at night.
