I am beautiful

I am beautiful.
There I said it!
And I don't regret it!
I am beautiful, and sexy, and empowered, and hot.
I am curvy,
supple breasts, swaying hips, lusciously soft and alluring.
My body is everything it means to be a woman.
It is maternal and loving.
It is comforting and warm.
It is the body of a mother, of a lover, of a wife.

It's been a long time since Americans saw curves as beautiful.
Now there is only one message sung out to the people:
Skinny Skinny Skinny!
But what in the world is so sexy about having the body of a twelve-year-old boy?
A toothsome body is soft and gentle,
not strained skin stretched over stringy bones.

You hear pleas to help the starving children in Africa, while young women across the country stick their fingers down their throats, trying to achieve that "desired" body.
Skinny Skinny Skinny!
We want to be skinny!

Yeah right!

I want to be curvy.
I want to be sexy.
I want to be soft and womanly.
I want my unclothed body to look delicious!
I want it to tumble in creamy waves of seductive flesh.
I want it to entice your senses and drive you crazy.
And, hey, there's a lot of me to look at and enjoy.

I am preached to about the sanctity of a skin-and-bone build.
These harping angels - demons? – sing their hymn to encourage cardinal beauty. Thank God I'm not religious!
These angels are singing on deaf ears.
They float on by, with no more importance than flecks of dust in the sky.
They're crazy anyway.

I may not have the world convinced, but I'm convinced myself.
Standing in front of a mirror, no clothes in sight, I feel beautiful.
I know I'm beautiful.
Cocooning clothes only hide my beauty, not enhance it.
Laced up corsets, skin tight jeans, leather and lace…all the things women add on, trying to be beautiful, be desirable, be drop dead gorgeous, be sexy!

Me, I don't need it.

I can strut in my own bare skin, because, as you know, skin is in, and be more beautiful than any of the cloaked creatures around me.

Is a woman a woman without her body?
My skin is pump and silky and coaxes wandering eyes.
It draws attention to my uninhibited nature and excites the imagination.

So you can strive to be skinny and I'll just smile.
You can keep your size zero jeans,
I'll keep my large, swaying breasts,
my curvaceous, sauntering hips,
my outward sex appeal,
but, most of all, I'll keep my inner beauty,
the confidence that blooms inside of me,
making me so comfortable with my to-die-for body.
You can strive for skinny;
I'll be over here, being beautiful.

Thought I'd pen a little self-empowerment :)

Yes you are and I'm glad to see you feel this way.
Now if only I could feel the same way about myself..
    What's your secret?

Tee hee - the secret is being so fabulous that there's nothing to get on yourself about. In sum: I'm awesome.

    Kidding (mostly)

When it comes to myself I really don't sweat the small stuff. A bad hair day will not be the death of me!

I think it's great how confident you are. There is nothing more sexy than a confident woman.

But it sounds like you're saying that skinny women aren't beautiful. I'm tired of the whole 'a real woman has curves'- dabate. I think every woman whether she is naturally thin or rather big is beautiful - most of us just need to realize that we are.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood you, just wanted to say.

I think the OP was meaning that naturally curvy girls should embrace it, rather than striving to be skinny :flowerforyou:

    ^This^

Kinda like the saying around here "fit is the new skinny" I struggled with anorexia a few years back, striving to be "skinny" now I'm getting healthy and fit, not just thin
I promise I have no ill will to towards the slender :D
