Lets hear it for the Bald Guys!!!

Right then here I go!

I'm 35 and started losing my hair in my mid-twenties, nothing major just the spam getting bigger, if you know what I mean.

It started to look stupid about 4 years ago, so I took the hard decision that us balding guys get, which was to shave my head, grade 2 all over. It killed me doing it, I remember looking in the mirror afterwards and being really upset about it.

Now its been 4 years since I took to the razor and whilst I openly say to my family and friends that when I win the Lottery, I'm having a hair transplant, I kinda accept it, however with all the photos of male models with their bushy hair (On the head please people) Its hard not to be occasionally miffed by the stigma of hair loss, as us chaps who are effected by it.

So then chaps, do you shave because you want to, or because you have to and ladies, some say they prefer the balding/shaved guys, but I've never met one with that opinion.

So I say to you all, lets give some love to the bald or balding guys. Lets celebrate the spam, buff up the baldness, shine the skin etc.

    I happen to think you look great Frazz :heart:
    Its always better to get shot of it all instead of trying to hide the fact like some do and I really like the 'tough guy' look that comes with it!

    My hub is bald... so I get it... he's comfortable with it but I'm sure it was harder when he was younger. As long as you keep it well manicured, a baldy head can be a hot thing! :)

    Bald is beautiful! The Man is balding (keeps it very close trimmed - don't ask me for numbers) and it suits him really well. More than his natural hair ever did, I'd say.

    I'm biased, though - I'm a sucker for a bald man. But on the right person it can look excellent - and surely it's always better than an attempt at a combover?

    The Man once asked me to shave his head before he went away. Needless to say I put the trimmer on the wrong setting and more or less scalped him (I mean scalped - between his shining bonce and goatee there was of a hint of 'American History X' there). He wasn't too horrified; I, however, was ORGASMIC.

    Good point Fitnesssocial, I did go the whole hog, but looked like a Baked Bean, now its just the grade 2 all over.

    I love a bald man!! Bald=Sexy. You look great. Although I have to admit, it doesn't look good on every man.

    I'm a slaphead too - I still have hair but not as thick as it once was. Shave it all the way down to the root so it only has the tiniest of bristles sticking out at the top. Looks much better and TBH I've had more success as a slaphead rather than full head of hair.

    Go figure!

    Yep, started taking the clippers to my hair about 7 years ago. As long as you're OK with it you'll be OK but I feel sorry for bald guys that are still clinging on to the few strands that they have left. You don't see so many comb-overs these days, do you? Shame that.

    Anyway, glad I made the most of my hair when I had it and celebrated it with some truly stupid hair cuts :D

    Embrace it - I love it! My guy still has hair, but it's so thin I keep telling him just shave it off. He is mortified when I say that (he used to have hair to his waist "back in the day" & I think he still misses it).

    You have to work with what you got, shave it and accept it. If they don't like it, tough shizz. I started losing my hair at 18 and shaved it shortly after. It's all about confidence, you could have great hair and no confidence and it will show. Be who you are.

    I've always been a fan of the long haired man, and still am. But I recently was able to pet the scalp of a balding friend, and it was awesome! I never knew bald could be so nice.

    OMG, I think bald is sexy. The BF shaves his head and it's turned me on since day 1.

    This has stirred quite a response, so thanks all.

    Yer the ad's on the site make me laugh about hair studios etc and magic pills that makes it grow back, but your nuts fall off etc.

    Its good to hear positive comments, as us guys (Whilst we very rarely admit it openly) care about how we look.

    Started losing my hair in the back/top a year or so ago... decided to just dive in head first and started shaving it since last summer. Now I'm losing the weight and working on the build to go with it. If I had my choice I'd much rather have the head of full, thick hair.. who wouldnt. But I'm digging it... its growing on me lol.
