why no calories for 'strength' exercises?

Been enjoying the mfp android app, but noticed an anomaly: calories ate only subtracted from your daily total for cardio, not for
Strength exercises like weight training. Is this a bug in the program?

If you go under "Cardiovascular Activity" and type in "strength training", you will find results. I question how accurate it may be because two people can say they lifted for an hour with one doing 10 sets and another doing 30 sets, so I normally enter one minute for each set of muscle training that I do.

The Cardio is based by general entries and estimations. When it comes to weight training, it is too specific. Reps, weight used, sets, etc. Your best bet is to wear a Heart Rate Monitor and track how much YOU burn. Then you can enter it in your exercises yourself.
  • its because its all a guess. Even the cardio exercises are just a guess. It is hard to calculate how many calories are burned someone at 210 benching 250 compared to someone at 160 benching the same.... that among the thousands of other lifts/weight combinations.
  • Thanks. That helps. I just wonder why it doesn't include calories if you choose Strength Training outright.
