Heart Rate monitor

Recently, I recieved a Polar heart rate monitor as a gift. Its an FS1. Since it's one of the lower end monitors, it doesn't count calories. Anyone know of how to calculate calories without the monitor doing it for you? Website suggestions? Anything? Since it was a gift I can't return the monitor, and it seems silly to let a perfectly good heart rate monitor go to waste because I can't figure out how to calculate my calories burned!

You can try caloriesperhour.com. Before I got my HRM I would google several websites and average them out. Calories per hour website does a pretty good job. If I were you I would try to save my money and get an HRM that calculates your calories burned... that way you're not guessing.

I was just going to list this, however it's not completely accurate. I put in the info for my workout this morning and it's about 65 calories lower than what I really did, but it's pretty close.

Tried same on caloriesperhour.com and it was much closer, although 40 calories over, hehe. Guess you could do both and take the average to get what it really is ;)
