Making Recipe's Healthier & Low Cal?

So it's almost getting to be christmas baking season...
How have you adapted your favourite recipes into something thats more "guilt free" to enjoy?
Please post any recipes you do have!

Also - When I am calculating calories for my recipes I see what's killing them is the White Flour & White Sugar?
What do you substitute for those two items?

Whole wheat flour can be used in a lot of things. Agave nectar and Splenda can be used for sugar in some cases.

I prefer to just enjoy my fav stuff in all its glory for 1 day. I'm making homemade ice cream with the pumpkin pie(also homemade-crust too!) and persimmon pudding.

Some favs if you REALLY want to swap-cauliflower "mashed potatoes"
Instead of yams with the marshmallows, bake acorn squash and mix with butter and a bit of brown sugar or agave
I'm probably going to make quinoa cooked in chicken stock(or turkey stock) with dried cranberries and pecans
  • TRY WHEAT FLOUR AND A SUGAR SUBSTITUTE SPLEND OR STEVIA.
  • There are a lot of low cal delicious holiday foods on skinnytaste.com I have tried quite a few, and the meals I have daily are from there. Everything so far has been amazing and nearly guilt free.
