I like paranormal romace novels and my favorite author is amada hocking. anything she writes, I read. best bet is to get her books from amazon, b&n online site, ect. since most of her books are there but the ones that most recently came out should be in book stores.

    in case you're interested:http://www.amandahocking.blogspot.com/

eta: they're y/a books but still good.
  • I love LOVE LOVE LOVE Karen Rose - she writes Thriller/Romance (very good read).

Please read the Black Dagger Brotherhood from J R Ward. Just make sure you read them in order. There are 11 books in the series so far. Awesome read.
  • I recommend Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. It has a fantasy element to it and the old photographs that inspired the story are wonderful.

Agreed. Interesting story - I enjoyed it.

ETA: Also - I like to scroll through Amazon's top sellers and new releases for new ideas....then put in a request to my local library to purchase them and/or add me to the reserved list. :)

I'm currently reading Rudyard Kipling's Tales of Horror and Fantasy, which is awesome. The Oscar Wilde collection is quite amazing (probably gonna read that again after Kipling). Anything from H.P. Lovecraft will be a good read, and I'm also working on the The Song of Albion trilogy by Stephen Lawhead. It's quite good and I'm looking forward to reading more of his collections.

Edit: I also highly recommend the entire Black Company series by Glen Cook. It will completely knock your socks off!

The Outlander series by Gabaldron (I may have misspelled the author's name but that is close)

If you like fantasy, try Vampire Academy (FAR from Twilight books...), Hunger Games (MUCH better than the movie...duh!) the Inheritance series (_dragons_), Golden Compass's series, anything by Tamora Pierce (read in order!!)

    Fantasy/romance, try Christine Feehan.

If you read Manga, black cat, fruits basket, naruto, angel beats....this one could go on forever ^^, a korean one I like currently is no see no hear but love...lol!

"The Wheel of Time" by Robert Jordan (and later Brandon Sanderson after Jordan passed). If you're a fantasy fan, you've probably already heard of it, but I felt it should be mentioned. It's an epic series - sixteen books including the prequel - but it's totally, totally worth it.

"The Fault in Our Stars," "Paper Towns," or "Looking for Alaska" by John Green. Not at all fantasy, but beautiful novels. They're billed as Young Adult literature, but they grapple with large concepts and are incredibly satisfying even for adults.

more of a non-fiction kind of guy...my last two were pretty good...

skyjacked which is about the mystery of db cooper

    and

no easy day the recently released story about the killing of bin laden written by the seal who was on the team.

    both worth the time.
  • I, too, really liked Miss Peregrine....hope there are more to come. I also loved The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society (Mary Ann Schaffer), The Gargoyle (Andrew Davidson), and Cutting for Stone (Abraham Vergese). Not exactly fantasy, bit good books.
