does injuries affect your metabolism?

Recently dislocated my knee, read somewhere that after an injury, your body works harder to heal it self and therefore boosts your metabolism?
Was wondering what you guys thought of this (personally I don't believe it) and how should I eat during this week since I will be exercising very little
