Procrastination

Because this is the Motivation and Support page I'd thought I'd offer this tidbit, and do this as many days as possible.

"How many things in our lives (adults) do we actually accomplish? Most of us are stuck doing a job that fulfills another's dreams or purpose, taking care and providing for our families and we very rarely do things for ourselves...fitness and nutrition is the ONLY thing I do for myself, that's just Me and my will and pushing myself to accomplish even the smallest of goals to the largest."

Do something for yourself everyday and today start with eating right and exercising. Whether its your mind, body or soul.

Well I just started to do things for just me. I am eating good and execrising. It has been a hard thing to do I always felt guilty for taking time for myself. I am learning that it is OK to do things for yourself.

Me too my life's work is dedicated to helping others and familiar pea and being there for my own. My only break is fitness.

I am more focused now on my health and its making me happier with everyone else around me. Who knew that changing a few things in my life to make me happy would help my overall lifestyle. Whoo me! :) But I can tell you that some days are bad for me but I still try to push forward. . . we all have those days. I dont get very much me time away from the girls so my working out time is my me time now. Its a start at least :)

    Nice post Lamar
  • Thanks mate. (Hey I used mate appropriately).
  • Fitness is the sole thing that we can do to ourselves. After all we cannot be caring of others without first taking care of ourselves. This may sound selfish but its the single most important thing that many of us seem to forget.

In my case apart from fitness, I also focused on working hard to achieve my long term goals. I may be serving other people's dreams for now but to be honest I do this more for myself rather than for my bosses so I can be able to save money to travel, start a business or to buy a house & lot (just recently bought my very first place). Yes we work for other people but if we look at it from the other side, what is our real reason why we work? To earn money. And when we earn money we are able to become more independent than being jobless & dependent on our loved ones for support. So it works both ways too.
  • I procrastinate everything. I keep trying not to but then stuff happens. Today, for example, I made dinner at around 4 so I could get to work on some projects, and ended up feeling tired and sleeping for 2 hours, woke up groggy and still have no energy. Drank cold water and had some peanut butter for protein.

Feel a bit better but I've resigned to wake up at 6am before class and work on it. Many days I just completely lose energy in the afternoons, especially when it gets darker out.

Very well said. Love the notion that a little bit of selfish is a good thing.

The feeling that of accomplish is worth the hassle of "finding vs making time" start something if its tracking food or drinking 8 glasses of water or even the smallest of steps can help.
