I want a twinkie....

For some reason, when I heard that hostess was shutting it's doors all I want is a twinkie. Anyone else have this urge to go out and buy twinkies knowing they may not exist anymore?

Not Twinkies, but Drake's Funny Bones. Drake's is owned by Hostess, so I have a sad feeling that there will also be no more Funny Bones :(

I went to the grocery store at lunch and walked down the snack cake aisle- every single hostess product was gone, the shelves wiped clean of everything, including those nasty snoball things.

Nah... even with my fb newsfeed being inundated with hostess this and twinkie that... I still don't want one... but Yahoo! Shine has a recipe posted for twinkies... sans all the chemicals and stabilizers...

I'm thinking I should stock up on Ho Hos.. maybe a new company will make them in China and the cream filling will be full of lead and cadmium :grumble: Another America tradition bites the dust

Not a huge fan of twinkies but do enjoy them once in awhile. My fiance was devastated and then got relieved when I read him your comment. Being the geek that he is, he looked into it and realised that Twinkies in Canada are sold by Saputo under Hostess brand, and Saputo is still going strong. So yay! :P

Another company will buy them up. No worries! Hopefully the new owners will not have a greedy union to contend with.
  • Lol, last night I came home to a bunch of hostess cakes in my apt. I hadn't seen any in my apt. ever before. I asked my fiance what was going on and he said with a sad look in his eyes "I found a bunch of my favorites but no twinkies!". I was like what?! Then he told me what I had missed on the news and that his next project is to find as many twinkies as he can. I had to stifle a laugh but to each their own! I think I might do the same thing if it was reese's going out of business ;)
