Love handles and Moobs must go but how?

I would currently describe my body as the Michelin Man with a large B cup, not exactly the most flattering look. I know I will lose the weight as I am committed to this but how do I lose the love handles and moobs I have acquired through my body neglect?

I assume it is a little bit of everything but are there exercises I should/shouldn't do? Are there foods I should eat/not eat to get the process moving faster? Looking for some suggestions

What has worked for me is tons of cardio almost everyday(need a rest day now and then) with situps and pushups. Start slow and build up, Rome wasn't built in a day. I also do a circuit training day where I made sure to hit most of the muscle groups. Diet wise what has worked for me is just calroie counting, stay within goal, but track everything.

Remember to do all three sides of weight loss-weights, cardio, and diet. Weights help by not only helping you gain muscle but also after you have done muscle workouts and are sitting and doing nothing, your body is burning calories. Cardio is the burning fat and also it speeds up the metabolism. Diet is just making sure you aren't eating more than you should and trying to eat healthy foods.

Diet. Lifting and Cardio will help but clean eating will do more. Have some patience and don't flog yourself when you have a moment of weakness either. Your moobs and handles will go away as long as you persist.

Basic calories in vs calories out - doing lots of core exercises could even be counter productive as it'll put some bulk under the fat.

However, you'll look better when you do lose fat and resistance work will help burn the calories.

Moobs were never a massive issue for me, but the love handles were - I'd say they only started to go at around 14-13% body fat on my scales. Now around 12% BF and they're gone, even got that bit of a 'v' showing through too - never had that before in my life!

For the most part it's just a matter of eating the right amount of calories. You do however want to keep your protein intake high since this can help prevent muscle tissue loss during your weight loss. You don't want to lose that muscle. Eat a proper diet, exercise, and get rest. Those three things are what's necessary to get in the shape you want to be in.

Do some strength training 3-4 times a week and cardio 3-4 as well. Eat good (MFP suggestion to start with) and you'll be getting in better shape in no time. It does take some time but in 4-5 months you can either be in good shape or be in the same shape wishing you would have started 4-5 months ago. Start today.
  • Thanks all for the response. I guess I knew the answer, just wanted to make sure there wasn't one thing more important than another. This definately is a process and I am committed to it. Thank you again and have a great weekend.
