From Montreal to Louisiana in May - What should I see or do?

Options
We are planning 9 days in Louisiana in May.
2 days for New Orleans by itself and same in Baton Rouge.
The other days are still floating in terms of plans right now.

We want to rent a car to visit the most we can.

What are your suggestions?
Where should we eat, drink, dance the night away, enjoy our days???

I hope you won't be counting calories while you are here! Don't leave without eating Boiled Crawfish however not sure if Boiled Crawfish is as good in NO/Baton Rouge as it is in Cajun Country - Acadiana. Cafe Du Monde is a popular spot in New Orleans. If you want family friendly, take the Fairy Ride down the Mississippi from the Aquarium to the Zoo in New Orleans -- it's very nice. Search to see if any FESTIVALS are going on while you're here. They are always FUN to go to regardless of where they are. And we always have FESTIVALS so I'm sure you can find one somewhere :):) Great to get the CAJUN/CREOLE experience and dance till you drop with lots of GOOD HOME MUSIC :) LAISSEZ LES BON TEMPS ROULE MES AMIS! May 2-5, 2013 Jazz Fest 2nd Week

May 21-25, 2013 New Orleans Wine & Food Experience

    May 26-27, 2013 Greek Festival

These are the festivals in New Orleans in May.
Unfortunately I couldn't fins anything for Baton Rouge although I'm sure there's something going on...

Be sure to check out the French quarter in New Orleans. You'll always have a good time there lots of culture and fun!

Make sure you eat some good greens, crawfish, shrimp.

We went to NOLA last year and had an amazing time! Harry's bar is a lovely place to drink and the best food was in the The Rib Room at the omni hotel, St. Louis st xxx
