Welcome defcon,
How far a long are you with P90X and what kind of results are you seeing? I just started my third week and trying to gain 20lbs. I haven't seen any noticeable results yet, but I figure it's still way too early on.0 -
I'm on my sixth week of p90x doubles, with this website I learned that I have been undereating lol. I thought I would have been over eating. I'm suppose to be eating over 3000 cals lol. Your trying to gain 20lbs? If you are, you need to eat enough protein as well as your carbs for energy. If your trying to gain lean muscle mass your reps on exercises need to be 8 to 10 reps not 12 to 15. Hope this helps you out a bit, if you need anything else just reply back.

Yeh, I've been enjoying this site a lot. It helps me control my daily intake which is exactly what it's supposed to do but in the past I just kind of figured I was eating enough and the right stuff. Haven't so much changed what I've been eating, but eating more or it. I'm just doing P90X Classic because if I do too much cardio esp what Doubles intails, I def won't see my size gain. Just from past xp. I'm trying out a new supplement stack as well so I'll post up at some point how those results are.0 -
Great job roylawrence87 on the 20lbs in 5 weeks (that's alot) becareful not to over do it and get sick. From what I read about power 90 from this site people talk good things about it. I wish I would have bought it first in 2006 instead of p90x. I bought it in 06 did one workout and almost passed out lol (I was keeping up with Phil from the video). Basically I burnt myself out on it the first time. Then everyone at work was talking about it and wanted to do it a year later. I tried it again but failed. I worked out in the gym alot but did very little cardio. I was strong but I did not get ripped. Well on May 1, 2010 I will be ripped hopefully an 8 pack. If I only get a 6 pack I will do the video again with more physical strength and a better nutrition diet.
Hey lunacocoa good job on your choice from what I read you stated you had past experence with p90x? Did you do the double before? If your trying to gain muscle asap try creatin. I'm using jack3d from usp and its great. It has creatin in it (kind of like n.o. explode without the fillers). The only problem I'm having is changing the protein, carbs, and fat into the 50-30-20, 40-40-20, and 20-60-20% form. Do you know of a formula to change my daily summary on my food diary from the total # of carbs, fats, and proeins to %'s of fats, proteins, and carbs?
Thanks,

I can't wait until I can get to use my P90X. I have to build up to it. I got about one week into the program when I had a pretty bad asthma attack.
I'm getting back into shape and hope to be using it in the next two to three weeks.

Well thank you kittytrix for your post and welcoming me to the site. I feel that everyone’s way to weight loss is 80% Nutrition, 10% Mental, and 10% Physical. kittytrix I read your post and checked your profiles sorry to hear you had all that trouble with your health (hopefully that's all in the past). You stated that you were on steroids maybe that will help you get kick started to a lean ripped body in no time J/J. No, but you’re doing a good thing by slowing down and gradually getting back into your workouts. A female friend of mine was doing p90x with me and recently she had to go to the E.R. because her top center stomach was hurting severely (possible gallbladder or stones). I read up about the gallbladder and it could be caused by rapid weight lose which she has. This happens a lot in females evidently. Well good luck on your success in getting back into shape to kickbox someone's a*# lol. P.S. What kind of car is that in your profile pic? It looks two door like a challenger or camero.0

Well about 5 1/2 years ago I began working out for the first time ever really and I used John Basedow's Fitness Made Simple and 6 Pack abs DVDs and ate exactly how his video described. I got very lean with great definition. I continue that for about a year, but I never paid attention to my calories, protein, carbs or fats, all I did was eat like I said exactly how John recommended.
I began working and lost the time to workout unfortunately over the last few years so a couple years ago I bought P90X, but I still didn't have time to workout. I kind of just bought it as a motivation. So early '09 I finally began using it following the routine exactly (I was 160lbs then) for about 2 months. I lost weight but I still was not following a coloric intake, only thinking about the protein. I stopped working out once again due to work (story of my life). But I continued to just eat healthy and before I knew it I was 140lbs.
I just started my 4th week of my latest attempt with P90X and after being recommended to this site, everything has changed since I am now actually paying attention to my daily food intake. I actually have taking out the middle routines, like plyo, kenpo, etc....because the last time I did those, I wasn't seeing the results I wanted, I was only becoming leaner. I've even changed the forth weeks of each month to follow its previous or following weeks routine. I do plan on adding back all those middle routines once my muscle gain is where I want it.
Over the past 5 1/2 years of on and off working out I have tried a ton of different supplements, ranging from weight gainers, whey protein, supplement pills. I just started taking Jack3d a couple weeks ago because I heard of the pump. After taking this pre-workout supplement, it's only the second best one I have tried. The only other one I liked that gave serious pumps was Barmensen Labs HFR. It's a topical gel that u rub onto the parts you are working out. It pretty expensive and I can only find it online. Jack3d seems to be just as good and cheaper and more convenient to find (I always shot at the Vitamin Shoppe).
I also just started taking MHP Up Your Mass for the muscle/weight gain, but as I love to try supplements I decided to buy the Hard Gainer stack (this was today actually ). Here's the stack if you're interested https://secure.maxperformance.com/mhp/myweb.php?hls=1288. Before I buy any supplements I read as many reviews as possible as should be done and between Jack3d and this Hard Gainer stack I found very very few negative reviews.
Currently my goals are set at roughly:
Calories = Body Weight x 16-18
Carbs = 40%
Protein = 35% (recommended 1-1.5 x Body Weight)
Fats = 25%
These goal were slightly lower a few weeks ago, but I have been changing them according to my weight increase and by different opinions.
I'll update how my stack is working in a couple weeks.
I will say, this site is awesome. No fees!!
