Thanksgiving Day

You all know what holiday is coming up next week...Thanksgiving. I was thinking, just because we are all dieting, that doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to pig out one day and actually not worry about calories. I think Thanksgiving day, I'm not gonna long a thing. It'll be hard but I think I'll be fine. I will obviously watch what I'm eating to an extent but won't log it. Who is all with me? Any input? Let me know your thoughts!

I am not planning on logging each thing individually. I will probably just quick add a crazy amount of cals. I am not planning on eating like its my last meal. I don't usually anyway, I overdue those desserts and this year that's not possible since its just pumpkin pie on the menu for dessert. I have done very well and I don't do "cheat days" so I can afford a nice holiday!0

I'm not logging either, but that's because we don't know when we're gonna eat, and my phone takes too long to load the app, and I'm just not going to be bothered with it.
I'm not making the full "spread" anyways.... but I AM making healthier foods. I'm doing the Skinnytaste.com mini pecan pie torts instead of a full pecan pie.... a local turkey farm has preportioned marinated breasts, and we're doing those on the grill, and I'm making a mashed potato/cauliflower mix ... but don't tell my husband because he HATES cauliflower!...... and a lighter version of mushroom gravy. As for the stuffing, we always have to have Stove Top, just for an inside joke. And we'll have steamed broccoli.0 -
My family and I are going out to a seafood place so I should be good but I see no reason not to enjoy youself on Thanksgiving.0

I'm going to eat a freakin' ridiculous amount of food.
RIDICULOUS.
Then, I'm going to eat pie.
Then, I'm going to eat another slice of pie just to make sure that the first slice of pie knows who's BOSS.
And I'm not logging ANY of it.
And I'm not wearing pants.0 -
I will not be logging. Turns out that I usually go off rails one day every week or two anyway, so Thanksgiving will be that day for me next week. Cheers!!:drinker:0

I'm going to eat a PIE, as in, a whole one. Then, I'm going to eat a second one.
This will be after I have eaten all the food. ALL OF IT. And then I'll go to my friend's house, and eat ALL of her food.
Pants hold you back. I'll be wearing sweatpants, but only because public nudity is frowned upon.
Also, if I don't consume at LEAST 6000 calories just on dinner alone, I will have considered the day a failure. Seriously, it's like a contest.0 -

I'm smoking a brisket in lieu of a turkey this year, and we're having a big potluck-style dinner. I plan to enjoy myself and the company of my friends!
No logging. I will get my morning walk in though.0 -
will most likely log (I am OCD that way) but not sweat being over a couple thousand calories or so... LOL>0

I am still logging my food for that day. Luckily, I am the cook in this household so I have been pre logging everything now.
I will aim for maintenance calories that day and if I want to eat extra I then I will get in an a.m workout. I already have most of the Thanksgiving meal logged and it's pretty hefty. 1,300 calories so far. (with pie)0 -

You sir, have a great Thanksgiving attitude. Maybe my husband and I should adopt the same attitude !0 -
I'll still log everything I eat, but I'm not going to set a calorie limit for that day. If I go over my allotted 1200 by a considerable amount, I'm not going to sweat it. I'll make some healthier alternatives this year but keep some of our traditional fattening foods we've always had. Also, an extra intense workout the day before and after will be necessary but I'm sure one day isn't going to ruin everything.0

I will be logging (the best that I can) because I am doing a weight-loss challenge and I am trying really hard to stay on track...I dont plan on exactly pigging out but I am not going to NOT have some holiday favorites because of it.
I am attending an hour long Thanksgiving Holiday workout that morning, so I feel pretty good going into the Holiday0 -
Thanks everyone for your responses!0

Im going to continue logging even on Thanksgiving because it's not a diet for me, its a healthier way of living. I'll be doing the cooking which will make it easier for me to log. I plan to eat what I want, but in moderation just like any other day of the year. This year im thankful to be alive and im thankful to have the devotion to this journey. I'll also exercise a LOT that morning so that I can indulge a little more.0

I will log everything because I think it would cause me physical pain not to at this point. My problem will not be portion control for Thanksgiving, it will be avoiding all the leftovers for the rest of the weekend!0
