I'm just going to copy and paste the "About Me" I just wrote:

Height: 5'7"
Highest Weight: ~170
Starting Weight on MFP (Nov 2012): 142
Current Weight: 139

Last year, I finally decided that I needed to take steps to get healthier and lose weight. I was an athlete in college (swimming and water polo) but over the next few years after graduating I gained about 30 pounds.

At first I just tried to make small changes, and I lost some weight. Once I was back into a healthy BMI, I didn't want to stop there.

In February this year, I started lifting weights using the New Rules of Lifting for Women. I also just tried to eat generally healthier. I went from 157 to about 140, with some hills and valleys along the way. In August I started Jamie Eason's LiveFit. I don't know what happened, but I totally burned out on lifting in the process. The meal plan was super restrictive and boring. And I just don't think I'm the type that can handle hitting the gym 6 days a week. I fell of the wagon big time - and spent the last month and half eating whatever I wanted and never working out.

So, I've joined MFP in the hope that calorie counting - something I've never tried before - will help me lose the additional pounds I'd like to get rid of. I don't have a plan to get back into lifting yet, just trying to exercise a little bit, more days than not.

If anyone is interested in adding me, please do! I don't know anyone else on MFP. And apparently having "friends" will help me lose 3X the weight?! Not sure if anyone else has heard about that... hah.

Great thing is that you know what it's like to be and athlete, good games, bad games...it happens to us all. Just gotta chalk it up to a loss (lately, not before that past month or so though)...start by achieving one goal at a time and hopefuly you'll fall back in love with weight lifting. Its so very good for you, during and after your workouts. Best wishes doll!

Thanks for the add! I know I'm close to where I want to be - but I think I'll need MFP to maintain once I get there, for sure!
  • Sending request. I am also looking to get back on track. Good luck.
