What the past 5 months have brought me

In the past 5 months I have gone from being a sedentary slug with borderline high blood pressure to someone who:
Can run 4 miles straight through
Can do push ups (only a few, but it's a start)
Can hike for 13 miles
Regularly works hard on the elliptical and the stationary bike for 60 minutes
Can bench press 80 lbs (again, it's a start)
Squats 160
Leg Press 360
And is almost 50 lbs lighter. When you have a lot to lose, it can feel daunting. It's important to remember that all of the in-betweens are victories that should be celebrated - not just the "goal weight" at the end.

I would love to hear your victories, scale or otherwise.

I mean, think about all you can do now that you couldn't then  And!!!: your heart isn't hurting as much and your other vital organs are getting better oxygen and nutrients.

Thank you so much for the positive feedback, I am absolutely going to keep it up. I am diligently working my way up to a half marathon in April and I have more weight lifting goals to reach. Additionally, I want to take a 4 day backpacking trip next summer and run a muddy obstacle race (5K) in September. There are so many fun things to do!0

Wow, that's fantastic!
What I didn't mention is that the 4 miles I run takes me an hour or so (trail running). You are fast.0 -
            Congratulations Otterluv!0

That is WONDERFUL!! And the loss is very obvious...especially the chin. Love the squats, leg presses and bench presses especially!
So far my NSV is...kinda embarrassing. I was at work. Before I got to my desk, my pants were starting to fall down. By the time I got home, I took my pants off without unbuttoning or unzipping them. Yep, time to change sizes. :-)0 -
My recent victory....today...did a full 20 min straight on the elliptical trainer...When last week I had to stop at 10min then go back an hour later to do only another 6 min. Everytime I went to the basement I would do 5 min. I think this has helped build my endurance.

A second victory is having you as part of my cheer squad!
You ROCK!0 -
            Congratulations. You're doing great!0
