Everyone has their opinion on this subject (as you'll soon see). I use the exercise calories as sparingly as possible, kind of like an insurance plan!
Good luck!0 -
MFP has your calories set up for you to lose depending on what your settings are. Just eating that alone, you should lose weight. You should also eat back your exercise calories to prevent your body thinking it is going into starvation mode. In that case, your body will hold on to some of the fat. There's an explanation of how it works here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/9-general-diet-and-weight-loss-help0

I had to drop my calories from 1800 o 1500 in an effort to lose. I get stuck and know it's time to reduce that intake. I pay most attention to the actual number of calories I consume. I pay attention to the exercise credit calories but try not to eat those extra calories. More weight loss for me this way. I think it's different for everyone. Best wishes!0

You should only eat to your goal ideally. The exercise would make you lose weight and tone up if thats what you desire. However, I will say this you need to eat enough not to throw your body into starvation mode. I set my goals high and I usually go over by a few hundred. That's just the way I like it. My goal is 1850 per day. I usually eat around 2000 or 2500. I workout hard, work hard and try to eat good healthy food though. I'm toning up but not losing weight. I"d have to eat my goal to lose but I'm just toning right now and don't want to lose anymore weight. I hope this helps! It sure has me!0

Balance in all things. I try to not eat all my exercise calories. Like this quote says... Nice to have a little insurance.0
