Those darn flying pigs

I was talking to a co-worker yesterday, and responded to a comment she made by saying, "Yeah, when pigs can fly." This got me thinking about things I didn't think would happen, but have. So I'm curious, what are goals you've had that you thought you'd never achieve or a situation you thought wouldn't ever get better, but did?

    Considering my socioeconomic status growing up, I never thought I would have any measure of success or end up middle class. I believed I would end up stuck in some minimum wage job forever. I also had terrible luck with the ladies as a teenager and never expected to find love, which I have found twice in my 20s.

    I never though my son (who dropped out of school) would go to University. His graduation is next month!

    When my hubby first broached the subject of marriage with me, I told him I'd get married again when pigs fly.
    At our wedding, his groom's cake had flying pigs.

    I never ever thought I'd ever be able to call myself a runner. I'd laugh at anyone who even suggested it! However, since Memorial day of this year, I've started running and to date have run 4 5K races. Still not up to my goal of running a 10K, but I'm getting there!

    I never in my life be caught dead in a gym... Now I go a few times a week and simi enjoy it...
    Shhh don't tell my personal trainer! Lol

    And I am in a size 10 now :)

    Pigs do fly....
