Shoes for high impact workouts?

I will be starting Turbo Fire in 4 weeks after I finish Chalean Extreme. I have never done high impact workouts like HIIT....I was wondering if I might need to buy certain shoes for that?
Now I have sneakers...I have some New Balance ones and I have Sketchers (D'Lights) or something like that. I was wondering if those would be enough support/cushion for the jumping or not? Any good shoe suggestions? There is a Payless Shoe Store in my area but I don't know what to ask when I go in to look for things. So I need ideas! Can I even buy what I need at a Payless? I am kind of nervous about buying something online, though if you link me to pages I will look at them. I guess I figure when buying shoes online you can't exactly try them on and walk around or jump with them...or see how they feel on your feet.

I'd find a running store and have them fit you. Even if you don't intend to run they'll analyze your foot and gait so you get a shoe that supports your foot.0

Definitely agree on this one.0 -
I'm not sure you want a running shoe, you may want more of a cross trainer for HIIT and for lifting you want more of a minimalist shoe.
High Intensity Interval Training isn't necessarily high impact. Nearly any exercise can be done in high intensity intervals.0 -
i love Nike shocks0

Reeboks makes a pair of shoes specifically for HITT and crossfit type workouts. They are AWESOME! But I would recommend going to an Athletic Specific Shoe store and have them show you some shoes that are best.0

I agree! I was having problems with my arches burning during high impact aerobics, so went and got professionally fitted. Shocked to find I had previously been wearing the wrong type of shoe for my gait AND the wrong size. I bought Brooks shoes from them and love them so much I went and bought a second pair for everyday. You're not going to find payless prices at a store like that though, so just keep that in mind. :-)0 -
Regular ol running shoes are perfectly fine.0

Oh my gosh buy your sneakers at foot locker or Nike in the "kids" section not toddlers you know like we're an 8 yr old would look.. Girl or boy.. I just got a pair of black and purple pennies usually worth like 80$ for 30$ in a size 5 in kids boys.. ❤????0

I personally got fitted with orthotics and love them dearly. Expensive, but well worth it. I had tendinitis earlier in the year and after it healed, my foot and ankle specialists asked if I wanted them. I wear them every workout now (with my Reebok running shoes which are a mesh-style shoe with some cushioning in the soles).
Actually, looking at my running shoes is making me realize I'll probably need a new pair soon, the soles are starting to get torn up lol0
