Insane Insanity!

Okay, I tried Insanity today. I got about 10 minutes in and that was it, I just don't think I can do it. I have been doing Turbo Jam since the beginning of January, everyday except Sunday , which is fun and all, but I wanted to try something new. I can do a steady 30 minutes of high impact cardio, that's why I chose Insanity, but now I think I need to lose some more weight first. Insanity is like super crazy high impact, and it kind of makes me mad that everyone on Insanity is super thin already, of course its easier for them, they have less weight to carry. I also tried P90X, that one I really didn't care for, I need something more fun and upbeat to keep me motivated.

Any suggestions? Either how to get through Insanity, or a different work out? Please help!

This probably isn't the kind of suggestion you were after, but what I find most motivating is doing group fitness classes at my gym. I have suffered through some intense 60 minute classes in which I've worked harder than anything I've done at home or even on my own in the gym. The peer pressure helps, seeing other people managing to get through when I feel like quitting.

Alternatively, you may find you have more strength and stamina for these workouts by doing more strengthening workouts like pilates or yoga. I have some Windsor Pilates dvds that are more intense than any pilates class I've taken and make a big difference when it comes to my strength/stamina in other workouts.

I've seen the info-ads for Insanity...and it looks insane. I took it as being a program for someone who's already thin and wanting to push it to the next level. You could try modifying the exercises to be lower impact, and just do as much as you can.

if your looking for cardio i would suggest finding a Zumba class in your area i have been doing it since August and i love it
Its so much fun you dance and loose weight some of the dances are a little slow and some are fast but you just work are your pace .. high or low impact... Zumba.com
Also try to get into a strength training routine ..SMEGER has some good ideas about joining a group etc...
    hope that helps

Ditto on the Zumba! I'm an addict, its so much fun. If you dont have the classes in your area (which are easy to find by entering in your zip on the zumba.com website) you can also get the DVD's. But I would highly recommend doing them in person, its so much fun!

Insanity does look insane! lol.. Well i think it is deff a workout for someone that is already very active (the skinny people)
I actually got the Tony Horton 10 min Workout DVD's and i really like them! You can do 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 of the workouts. They are not all easy but i find that they are great for people (like me) that are just starting out. They show you how to do all the moves and they also show you how to modify it so you can work up to the athletic max. :) After this i would like to move on to P90X or something equivalent. You have to start somewhere tho!!
    good luck! :)
