I really need to be serious about losing weight and getting fit. I went to my doctor this month and the last time I saw her was a year ago. She noticed I weigh 30 pounds more than I did a year ago. I kind of knew this since I have been squeezing into my clothes but to have her point it out was a real wake up call. It's depressing and I feel sick to my stomache with all this extra weight. I'm 41 yrs old but I hate hearing..."well you're getting older now so you have to expect to have extra weight and it's harder to get off." That may be the case but I know and see women my age and older that look wonderful "for their age." Can't use the age excuse anymore...need to get it together. I'm hoping this site helps. We shall see.............Good Luck to all.

I wish you all the luck on your weightloss journey! Seriously, my grandma is trying to eat healthier and she's having great results so no, age shouldn't matter. Do it for yourself and your family, do it the healthy way, do it slow and steady and make no excuse. Be patient, commit to it, log everything (treats included) and you'll have great results too!

    You can do it! :)

Well, I am trying one last effort to avoid weight loss surgery. I am in the process of getting approval through insurance, but I don't want it. I hear all these success stories, but I also hear the horror stories. I am committing to really trying this time. Tracking has never been my thing, but with the app on my phone, it is a lot easier. I have done pretty good, and just doing the drastic changes in one week, I lost 6 pounds. I know that is just a beginning number and not to be expected probably any other week, but it does feel good feeling the difference in my jeans already. Anyway, this is me. It's gotta work, it just has to. Surgery is the very last, bottom of the barrel option.
