NSV -- My grandmother noticed...

My mom had to drive 30 minutes to pick up my grandmother to bring her back to Jackson this morning... all for a doctor's appointment. I'm working today... but, I wanted to see my grandmother too, so I asked mom to bring her by work before she took her back home. It's hard for Mama Dot to get in and out of the car, so I walked outside to meet her. As I was walking to the car, I noticed Mama Dot's eyes get huge and her mouth drop open.

As I opened the door, I asked her what was wrong. With a huge smile, she said... "Hi Stranger".

My response... :huh: "What???"

She went on to tell me... "You've lost weight. I knew you said you were; but, now I can really tell."

Oh... and a co-worker who barely ever talks also said something this morning about how good I looked. :blushing: I guess I must be doing something right.

    Oh... and I should add that it has always been EXTREMELY hard for my grandmother to ever give a compliment to someone (especially when it comes to their weight). As much as I love her... she can be very harsh when it comes to being overweight. This is what makes it so much more special. :happy:

    What a great NSV! Encouragement like that makes such a big difference, doesn't it?! You obviously know how much you've lost, but when other people start noticing and start commenting on it, that's huge! :-).

    Happy Thanksgiving Week - I know your Grandma made your day. I don't know why it is family members can be the hardest on those they love! Blessings to you. And that co-worker seeing you everday -- so its especially sweet that she finally broke her silence! You are giving off healthy vibes in the workplace!!! :wink:

    CONGRATULATIONS!! Your Grandma sounds EXACTLY like my Grandma....tells it like it is no matter how it comes out!! I know when I get a compliment from my Grandma, then I'm doing something right as well.
