Emotional eating help when under high stress.

I had minor surgery on monday to see if I have cancer (and it came back negative for that, but there are "pre-cancer" cells)
I've been struggling with emotional eating this week and wanting to literally stuff it with food. I've been able to limit this, but I'm still reacting to stress with food. Any suggestions? Things that have helped any of you in the past? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!!

Here are some tips that have worked for me:
    -Go on a walk
-Eat filling meals high in protein/fiber
    -Drink beverages without the calories
-Keep lite snacks on hand, like popcorn
-Get your work done away from the kitchen (coffee shop?)
-Don't buy foods you tend to binge on

I am an emotional eater too. Especially when I am under stress. But I notice exercise helps keep your mind off of food. And also hobbies. I like to sing or write. When I write and record songs, one of the only times I forget about eating. What tthings do you enjoy doing? Also, keeping little snacks around; crunchy things like carrots, or evem a rice cracker with laughing cow cheese. just think, protein and some carbs combined. I hope i was helpful!
