Tired all the time

This Autumn has been pretty rough because of school and work and I've come to the point that I feel tired _all_the_time_. After I get home I have no energy for exercise or eating healthy. Does anyone have any tips on how to get my energy levels up? I live in Finland so it's cold and dark when I leave for school and come back home again.

Like Nike says "Just do it!" It's not always easy but often if you get moving you feel better.

It most certainly is the weather not being nice that makes your mood down and gives you that tired feeling.Try to find an exercise buddy and do smoothie shakes to get enough fruits and plenty of vegetables at lunch and dinner.:flowerforyou:

5000iu of Vitamin D every morning

Veg an fruit is good, but I don't think you will get this dosage level them without eating bushels

I live in the PNW where we don't see the sun much for nine months. Vitamin D helps a lot

Thank you for the tips! I absolutely should get some vitamin D for a start.
  • What about one of those sun lamps that people with SAD use? It imitates natural sunlight which wakes you up!

I used to get incredibly tired, I would even wake up feeing shattered. I realised that I was not eating enough....I've now upped my cals and feel much more alert and not tired at all.

Due to medication, I find myself far more tired than those around me. Winter is also extremely difficult with the lack of sunlight. I second the sunlamp.

Being kind and patient to myself when the exhaustion comes on is the best thing I've found for myself. Everyone has different energy needs and levels. I just happen to have less energy than others and need more rest than other people. I sleep when I can and just admit to people that I'm exhausted when I can't. It doesn't make me feel stronger, but it keeps me feeling kinder towards myself.

Chuck in some proteins! Like easy boiled eggs or something, will keep you full and satisfyingly energized :D
