I think it does not matter when you work out at all. As long as you have the energy and willpower to give it your all and get that intensity up then that is the right time for you to workout. I am an evening workout person, but I sit behind a desk all day. When the whistle blows I am up for activity instead of more sitting. Also I am not a morning person at all.

I find that I am too tired to finish a full days workload if I workout in the early AM. I tend to actually workout during my lunch hour. I find that it gives me the boost and gets my stress level lower when I return tot he office. I also find that I don't have the munchies in the early afternoon.

Do what you like....I do both sometimes. I do find that I push myself more in the mornings though since I haven't just worked 9 or 10 hours. Try it out for a few days or a week, see how your body reacts to it

Ideally I prefer mornings before 10a. With a 3m old nights are easier. Do what ever works for you!

I do morning because I work late and know I wouldn't do it after work.

I'm strictly mornings for several reasons--one, after 12 hours, I just don't want to work out and it keeps me up at night if I do. Like 3 am and an ambien and I'm still staring at the ceiling. Also, if I don't get it done in the morning, I just won't do it, too many excuses. It's really hard to get up and do it before work, but I get used to it. Ideally it's whenever you'll do the best, I just don't do well at night.

I tend to work out in the morning. It helps me wake up and feel better for the rest of the day. If I wait until evening, I usually don't have the motivation to even do the workout.
Using my HRM, I also find that I burn way more calories in the morning doing the same workout (which is always a good thing).

I find I can be more consistent with a first thing in the morning commitment. Later in the day, life has a way of getting in the way.

I am not a morning person at all, so i really can't see myself waking up an hour earlier to exercise. And i have a desk job so most days i am actually looking forward to doing something active after 8 hours of sitting on my bum.
I did read some stuff about how cardio first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach burns more fat(since there's less carbs to burn for energy first?), so you might even have a small advantage working out in the morning.

I'm not sure if it really matters. During the week, there is no way that I can get up in time to work out and do everything else that I have to do before work, so I make it a point to get my workout in immediately after work, no questions asked. But, on the weekend and other days off, I get up, have a protein shake and work out no more than 60 mins after waking. This schedule just works best for me.

I love evening workouts best because I have been bored all day and drinking coffee making me stir crazy. By evening i cant wait to exercise. I get home afterwards and crash out. Also in terms of calories, i know in advance how many to burn and if i want a treat during the day i know i can burn it off later.

When I do workout (which is something I need to improve upon), I do it in the mid-afternoon or after 7pm because that is the time the gym is less crowded. I want to get in there and do my stuff and not have to wait on someone who is hogging the weights or machines. I live in a small town and I don't want to make chit-chat with someone I know, as I just want to get to business.
  • I think I prefer mornings for things like runs and bike rides, but weights and cardio machines (gym stuff) later in the day. I'm going by weekend routine when my time is my own. I leave for work between 5:45-6:00 am though, so rarely do I workout until after work on the weekdays, no matter what I'm doing.
  • I'm also not a morning person, so while my husband prepares the dinner I go on the treadmill....also I noticed I haven't been loosing weight at all lately.... I work out more than before, what is going on???
