I binged.... Encouragement needed

After 6 honeymoon weeks of starting Mfp and feeling great, last night I binged horribly in my old style. Feeling sluggish physically today, but worse, feeling down and fragile, like I might not get going again. Any wiise words from those who have been here and kept going would be appreciated.

One day is not going to undo the good work of six weeks, woman.
Make yourself do a workout, keeping drinking water and chin up! I have felt like you're feeling now more often than I care to think about.0 -
A cheat day once in 6 weeks is pretty good ... just focus on what you did, why you decide to bing, and try to avoid feeling like that again. But sometimes you just need to give yourself a break, and you did so now just pick the ball up and keep running, you'll be fine. Good luck. and this might sound vain but its a little motto that has helped me ... "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"0

That you slipped up one day doesn't matter, what you do from here does! If you felt better eating healthily why wouldn't you want to go on doing that when right now you are experiencing the down side of the binge.
Take a moment to congratulate yourself for the hard work that got you here and then plan a healthy meal and some exercise today.0 -
Way to go!0

Don't beat yourself up about it. Get past it and straight back into the healthy eating and logging tomorrow. Just because you did it once doesn't mean you have to stay that way, it is just one day, we all have bad days. Put it behind you and look ahead into your happy and healthy future!0

Hey, we all fall off the rails, but you know what, you know you can get right back on, and the reason you feel so crappy is because you have had 6 weeks of doing well - you want to feel good so way you go again!!
:flowerforyou: Up and at 'em, one bad day is not the end!0 -
It happened...draw a line and move on......0

I am a binger as well. I can be fine for days or weeks at a time and then I'm eating everything in sight, hiding, etc. Throw the binge stuff in the house away. Open it up and dump nasty scraps on top of it. Make sure it's inedible. RIGHT NOW. Then alter your routes to/from home or school so you're not passing by fast food or convenience stores. Have someone ride with you if you can. Go ahead and eat more fruits/veggies. Exercise or knit or clean or whatever you have to do to keep your mind and hands busy elsewhere. Log EVERY bite of food, even if it's a binge.0

I feel your pain!
Saturday at a fancy mall with my man
I ate 2 bags of those pretzel bites I went from 115 to 119 over this past weekend!
I was terrified!
I stuck to my program and now today I am back at 115.
I though I could afford the pretzels because we also walked 14 miles the same weekend.
I will never do that again! My body just can not process "breads"0 -
Great work so far! Like all the others said, one day won't undo everything. Although it is usually a conscious and planned decision, I have days where I eat whatever I want too - being too restrictive is what killed all of my past weight loss attempts. This time is different. Even if I exceed my calorie goal by 500, 1000, 3000 calories on a given day, I know that these "diet vacations" are all a part of a long journey that is not going to be made or broken overnight.
I know not all of the members here have this philosophy, but I think that not letting yourself enjoy all of your favorite foods occasionally is a recipe for failure. There is no reason you can't get right back to it today!0 -
Yep what they all said! I like the one about drink some water and do a good work out. That will make you feel better about what you are doing and it will get your body back in the game Your fine!! Keep going!0

So, it happened...now water, water, water and maybe to the grocery store and lift up 15 pounds of potatoes...that should get you right back it the game..you're doing great!0

Thanks everyone. It's stuff I know in my head but clearly knowing it isn't enough or I wouldn't be fat.... The comments have given me a boost.0

Believe it or not there will come a day when these things will no longer get you down. A day where you will be confident enough in yourself that no matter what small set backs you face you know it will not stop you from reaching your goals. Until that day you need to know that everything we do in life requires us to overcome obstacles of some sort, the key is to not let those obstacles derail your efforts. Suck it up, learn, remember how you feel right now and make an effort to not let it happen again or decide that there will be one or maybe more days a week where you are going to need to treat yourself, and that is ok. Don't beat yourself up about it. Always more forward.0
