Hello Everyone!

I would love to chat with other girls/women in their twenties who are dealing with the same problems that I am.

I'm 22, a bartender, student, nanny, big sister, little sister....OMG and trying to be PERFECT!

Other people see NO problems with my body. I have never been officially overweight but I hate the weight I am at. No I am not anorexic but I am struggling.

Then there's all the pressure to be young, successful, tan, thin and have a great boyfriend. I have been single forever but I love it!

Is there anyone else out there who feels like me???

Oh and BTW I'm generally fairly optimistic!

    Same things for me.

When I mentioned that I just lost 5 pounds I hear "why?" or "you don't need to lose weight, eat!"

I know I'm not fat. I am at the higher end of the "normal" chart. But most of my life I've been at the LOWER end of the normal range so I feel bigger.

size 3 and 5 recently turned into 7, none of my clothes fit, and I do NOT want to give in and buy all new ones!

    My goal is 115, I am 126 now, was 108 in my early 20s (i'm only 5'2")

I have to say Yay!!! There are other people who feel like me!

People say the exact same thing to me--"You're ridiculous! Eat the pizza!" and all that good stuff.

So what are you doing to get fit? Since we are the group that isn't officially overweight, how do we target those small fat areas that SUCK!!
I've read that running is great so I try to run every day. I hate gyms....so what else is out there that I may be missing???

I bought a pedometer (7 bucks at walmart, they're cheap)
they recommend 10000 steps a day. I wore it on a normal day ( I work on my feet) and did 6000 so I realized I need to get up from the computer more often after work for starters.
I started using my treadmill again for an hour a day. I can't run because I can't breathe, but I walk. That got me up to 10000.
I quit smoking 5 days ago so my REAL goal is not so much the weight but being able to walk around my block without wheezing and gasping for air.
I eat the 1200 calories that MFP gave me in my diary, sometimes I eat back some exercise calories sometimes I don't, depends if I feel hungry.

I also bought a HeartRateMonitor (90 bucks on sale, not so cheap), and realized that when I AM gasping for breath, my heartrate is dangerously high, like 92% of max, normal exercise should be between 60-80% according to the paperwork. So I need to work on that.

As for other things besides the gym...just stay on your feet at home. Put on music and dance around the kitchen while doing dishes or cooking...take one piece of laundry out of the dryer at a time and go put it in the drawer where it belongs, so you're walking back and forth in the house (if your dryer is IN the house with you like mine)...it all adds up!

Unfortunately I have not been in my 20s for a few years. That being said, it still holds true. I also am not OVERWEIGHT. But I'm not comfortable. So I made a goal to lose about 15 lb in 9 weeks before my anniversary (some of that weight was medication induced due to meds I've stopped). I want to make my lower half thinner as I am misproportioned. Unfortunately, the weight is leaving the top part first, which makes me look very thin. My husband took a picture of me the other day and said I'm getting too thin. Only problem is, the weight on the bottom half hasn't budged yet (as is evidenced by trying on my size 4 jeans and still not fitting them). This is the first time in my life I am losing weight in a very healthy way, watching calories, cutting out junk, not eating late, and exercising regularly. I think I'm being extremely balanced. That isn't what everyone else sees.

So my advice? As long as you are doing it in a healthy way and not starving yourself, then keep taking care of yourself. The charts for height to weight ratio are so varied because all of our bodies are very different. Just stay healthy and you should be fine.

P.S. If you ever figure out how to be perfect, please post here and let us know your secret. In the meantime, if not, then continue to be your best imperfect self you are :)

I downloaded the dvds through a torrent. There's 5 workouts to it so I downloaded all 5 separately. You can download the whole thing at once but it takes too long.
