I desperately need support, motivation, inspiration. I guess that's why I'm here! Pretty please friend me!

To be honest... I've been dieting for a week now, and I wanted to sign up on the first day... I was just so scared I would fail on the first day that I couldn't bring myself to do it. But I've been doing the Optifast: Very Low Calorie Diet for a week now and tomorrow I jump on the scales. I have cheated a little bit, but nothing too terribly awful (I stole a 'Favourites' chocolate from the box in my office and hated it because I felt so guilty :P Never again!). I'm actually looking forward to tomorrow to actually see if this week has done anything. My boyfriend is saying I look less bloated but he's probably just being kind!

Last Friday was the day I decided I can't let myself keep going down this unhealthy road. Jumping on the scales and seeing those triple digits glaring back at me just crushed my spirit... I don't want to be 100 kilos... I want to be 65 and I will get there!

I can't wait to met you all!

Welcome aboard! (please don't tell me that snakes real =| )
  • Nake? Yeah, he's very real! Haha, I have three of the little angels and I love them very much.
  • Hello & welcome. I'm new aswell! I've been dieting for 2 weeks and lost 7lbs, but there's been a lot of family birthdays so thats with 3 meals out (+dessert)! But got no events coming up so hoping I can stick to it. I always fail at diets because I just lose motivation and willpower. So hopefully we can all support eachother!
  • Ohh that's the worst part! Christmas is coming up... I hate Christmas dinner with the skinny cousins who stuff their faces and stay so slim...
  • Oh yeah. Hoping to have the willpower to eat whatever on xmas day and then continue back to normal from boxing day onwards. We always have loads of sweets and stuff left over for days after so the temptation will be everywhere!

Welcome to MFP :) You'll do great, but only if you really really want it this time! I was coming close to 100kg myself (85) but that was my point of return, so I've lost weight with MFP since september and am now at 75.8 kg :) It really isn't so hard as I thought it would be
Feel free to look at my profile or diary or add me if you want some motivation, advice or anything.

    Hi :)

Your story sounds very familiar... When I saw 93 kgs on the scale last December, I freaked out, I was like "omg, so close to 100, noooooo!" and I started in January 2012. I was afraid I was going to fail and give up too but no, I've almost been at it for a year now and I've lost a bit more than 17kgs :)

I'm 1m68 so my ideal weight would be 58kgs but 65 would already be great for me too!

I'd say we have pretty similar goals and since I'm halfway there, I could provide inspiration, support and motivation. ;)

Add me, girly! Good luck on your weightloss journey, you can do it! :))

    xx

Sent you a friend request - my goal for this year is to get to 99 kgs, but given that I'm currently 113, I don't think it's going to happen (but I'm still going to keep trying!)

All the best for the VLCD - I had a friend at work that lost a lot of weight on it, he was put on it by his doctor, I think he did it for 3 months or so before transitioning to weight watchers. It looked too hard for me to try, good on you for having the will power to give it a go!

Good luck with it! If you start logging and log every day, and open your diary to others, it will make you feel accountable for what you eat!
  • Hey, Though I look new I shall assure you I am anything but hahah. This is my second attempt at this ( First one failed as I injured my knee and got diagnosed with Hypothyriodism so took a break to wrap my head around it)

Feel free to add me :)
  • Thanks for all the support everyone! I love the warm feel of this community... Maybe I can I do this with all your help :) Adding you all!

I would reccomend you to NOT do any kind of quick diet. You'll regret it. If you want to lose weight you have to do it properly with exercise and healthy foods. No cheating with shakes, you'll gain that back!

Thanks for opening your diary, but doing that means you'll probably get some tough love around here if you start to fall, or if your diary is below our grand expectations

Having said this: here it comes: are you going to eat some more today? I personnally feel your body could use some more fuel
  • Unfortunately I feel I need the shakes to kickstart me for the first month. To get my self control back. At this stage, all my promises of eating healthy always wind up in the toilet. Shakes I don't have to plan, cook, think about. I just drink them and it's quick, easy and taste pretty good. I will of course go back to only having one shake for breakfast in the mornings after the first month and I'm prepared for the re-gain. I just feel that the shakes will help me get myself under control again.

I've had a pretty long day and I've eaten every time I feel hungry, I've just stopped feeling hungry now (Full, not over hungry!)... And I haven't even had the last shake yet! But I'll drag myself through it.

Okay. Just as long as you know you'll gain back unless you go into proper fitness-mode ;)
  • Yeah! You're 100% right. I'm aware the shakes are kind of 'quick fix' by appearance but that's not what I am using them for. I just need the strictness of the whole shake idea.
  • You can do it!! All the best, you can add me if you want I just started a few weeks ago

Ok, whatever you feel works for you, is what you need to do. just realise that you need nutrition that's not in the shakes as well, like good fats (omega 3 and all that) and fruit and veggies to get your body to function. And I really hope you won't be discouraged when you start eating a little bit more moderately, and your body will try to make up for the quick loss...
