calories burned

so I have noticed that if I work out for 60 minutes the amount of calories I burn goes down every couple of days, so how am I suppose to reach my goal for calories burned? I was told it is not good to increase my time. I try to work out 5-6 times a week for at least an hour.

As you get smaller and fitter you will burn fewer calories doing the same exercise. My recommendation would be to focus less on the number, and more on the intensity. For instance, I can burn a similar amount of calories in 30 mins as I do in 60 mins if I add in sprint intervals to my run, or run the hills behind my house. This is all according to my heart rate monitor.0

I am just logging my exercise and time through the exercise page. haven't gotten a heart rate monitor yet. will monitor make a big difference in how many cals i burn in my daily workout?0

If you have lost any weight...even 1 lb... the calories that your burn (with the same workout for the same amount of time) with go down as well. This is because as you loose weight and get fit, your body also adjusts and works out more efficiently. You will also notice that as you loose weight your calorie goal will go down as well.
The monitor will not make a different in how many calories you burn... but it should keep a more accurate count of how many calories you burn. The calculators on here are just rough estimates and don't take HR or endurance into account.0 -
water also effects the rate of calories burned...you burn more calories when you are hydrated.

the calories burned will go down based on your weight/age/duration/gender...the computer is using these factors (that you input)...so as your loosing weight you don't burn as many calories...a Hrm will give the same feedback however your heart rate will also be in this equation. Making it quite a bit more accurate...plus if you want to burn more calories during a workout, might I recommend adding weights. It will get your heart rate up so you burn more calories. Interval running will do the same. When you do a workout of all weights you might want to add a cardio interval in while you rest your muscles....such as do 20 bicep curls then drop and do 5 burpees then do your second set of 20 bicep curls repeat and the after your 3 set of bicep curls move to 3 sets of fly and put 10 runners in-between....
